Finally got my hands on the car.

Hadn't seen one in the flesh until pickup or driven one in a test drive. I've got to say my expectations have been exceeded.

Car looks amazing, I love the colour, interior etc is very nice and handling driving home in crap weather and some crap roads was great. I got Tour suspension and its firm enough, didn't pickup any excess body roll round roundabouts etc. and it absorbed bumps and so on. Rearward visibility out the back is pretty restrictive but the mirrors appear to show a surprisingly big view and car didn't feel big on the roads (mostly country B roads).

No warning lights on way home lol.

Dealer has apparently put latest software on it.

Great handover from Simon at Oakmere.

Will see how it goes but my initial impression is very positive.

Yay, congrats.

It will be a long and challenging 1000 miles running in.

You might notice, like me, the car getting better and better over that time.
Weirdly, it was good enough even up to 4000 revs as the cornering was so sweet.

Congratulations, that’s looks great. Kudos too for buying it without viewing or driving an Emira beforehand.

Interested to read your experiences as you do more miles. Also curious if you’ve previously owned a Lotus and what your car history has been pre Emira.

Congrats! Looking forward to your ownership feedback.

That red looks stunning in the pictures. Does it really have that much depth to it?

So jealous! Congrats!

That looks like a great spec, here's to many happy miles!

Congratulations Wow do you normally buy cars without tests rides - or you’ve had previous Lotus so you knew you’d love the Emira

Congrats. I will be in the same boat as I ordered without seeing or driving one ... same thing I did with the C8. Hopefully this doesn't become the trend :)

Yes it definitely feels quite tight as you would expect.

Had another quick drive this morning, gear change is excellent forgot to mention that - it's much better than the 'stir the pot' changes the Elise used to have. I have a 2-11 and upgraded the shift mechanism to a dolomite shifter as it was too easy to mis change on track and the Emira one feels better than that

I've had a number of Elises over the years (series 2 ones), currently got a lotus 2-11 which has SPORT suspension its very stiff and great fun. I've also got an R8 and just got rid of a GR Yaris to make way for the Emira.

It's night and day compared to the Elise for build and finish as you would imagine.

It feels very tight at the moment so looking forward to getting some miles on it once its PPF done and getting past the first 1000 miles.

Yes its a very strange colour I had a red GR Yaris and thought it might be similar but it has a different depth, very dark red in showroom, changing to lighter outside and from above with the backpack all the way over it looks great to me (I know not everyone is a black pack fan) but I think it makes the car look fantastic.

I bought a GR Yaris with no test drive I had a feeling they might nail it and it was great fun. Similarly for the Emira I loved the look and I figured having had a few Lotus they were not going to mess up the handling too much. I also figured that I needed to get on the waiting list if I wanted one and could pull out late if needed.

No regrets.

I have had some PPF installed on the car, c 150 miles in should get some more miles on coming weeks. No issues so far.

The ride on the car is really excellent each time I am in it I am surprised how composed it is on the road over bumps, the mrs even commented on how good the ride was when she was a passenger the other day.

These are the types of pictures that sends my brain into overdrive regarding choice of color (magma vs. seneca). At least I'm in the US so have another year to decide/be tormented.

Hi All

A quick update its been. while finally at 1,100 miles the full beast can be unleashed. I tore my calf muscle so it's taken a bit longer than I had hoped to get here but I've done a few trips now over many hours including to Silverstone for the F1 at the weekend.

Driving

Still loving it, the tour suspension is great over the kind of roads I am mainly driving on and some of them are poor. Even the really crap section of the M6 with all the expansion joints is manageable (if you've driven it you'll know the part just as you go past Birmingham thud...thud...thud).

Driving position for me is great I have done 3+ hrs in the car with no breaks and no issues with seats, position, pedal offset etc . Steering wheel is actually fine its quite chunky compared to most cars but I don't notice it now.

Some reflection off the back window with front wipers on means you occasionally think you've got a rear wiper. Talking of the wipers, mine are a bit juddry sometimes - I've got ppf on windscreen and ceramic coating so going to measure them and try silicone ones. If anyone knows the sizes let me know. Wiper speed issue same as everyone else if you go into auto.

Been driving in some great and poor weather with these mad showers that spring up no issues in the wet that I can tell feels very planted.

Gear change is still good, no issues, it's got a bit less tight and I can change quite quickly on it with positive action.

Brakes are strong there is a little bit of travel at top of the pedal but I am used to it now but might see if I can get that adjusted with the dealer when fluid changes etc done but I don't have a problem with their stopping power.

Other Stuff

No warning lights have appeared and the entertainment system has been behaving itself.

AC has been fine, I've noticed you need to crank it up a little compared to what you might have in other cars but its been coming out the right vents etc.

No annoying rattles have appeared yet.

The auto locking doors work a bit differently to my other cars, they lock as you pull off then when you stop you open the door internally once it unlocks the system then you need to do it again to open the door or press the unlock button on the door before you open it. My other cars seem to allow the double lock to be undone when you open the door internally in one motion. So that's the only slightly strange thing I've noticed.

So thankfully its a pretty boring update....!

Great to read such a positive review, thanks - was getting a bit worried after some of the posts over the past few months. Mine's due in July/Aug, same colour, black pack and wheels as yours apart from I've not gone for the privacy glass - hope mine is a reliable 🤞

Congratulations - that spec looks amazing. I have my magma red due in Aug 23, after seeing your pics it has heightened my excitement
