We have similar laws in Canada. Based on the excessive number of ongoing defects the Emira is experiencing, Lotus may in fact be hesitant to get Emiras imported to North America anytime soon. Not sure if other countries have similar laws as well?
I’m in Canada and placed my deposit in June 2021. I gave up a month ago and got my deposit refunded. IF Emiras do ever arrive in Canada, I’m not sure if I would even buy one even on the secondary market based on the huge list of issues. It’s ironic when Matt Windle said in October 2022 that “...
I have this fear that in the future, possibly the not to distant future, that we’ll see a “barn find” episode of “The Late Brake Show” by Jonny Smith and he’ll discover an abandoned Lotus Emira. Not abandoned for the normal reasons of the owner not being able to restore it, but rather that the...
It’s not purely based on exchange rates between 🇺🇸 & 🇨🇦. Canada and the UK are within the commonwealth and have specific trade tariffs that benefit us Canadians.
That’s ok. I’d take any colour, even Lotus black & blue, the colour of a customer after dealing with Lotus CS. 😁 Just get those Emiras over to NA please.
This is simply inexcusable that Lotus should expect loyal customers to deal with this. I’ve heard many say that if you buy a Lotus you need to be prepared for some quirks and issues. By this point there have been so many issues with the Emira that it should officially be called a lemon. We...
I agree that the exterior of C8 is not as refined as the Emira. Lotus does do excellent design work. I do also long for the manual so Lotus wins there too.
Crap, why am I getting a C8!
Oh, because I want a new ride for the summer and GM can actually tell me what week it’s being built and when...
I have a C8 on order and the interior and tech is like night and day between the C8 and the Emira.
I actually prefer the Emira exterior more than the C8 but the Emira is lacking in so many ways considering it’s a $100K CAD car.
I’m also disappointed with the QC on the Emira. Too many...
At least we can banter and speculate about what may or may not be true as we while away the months that become years waiting for these elusive Emira sports cars. If only Lotus HQ would give us monthly updates with concrete info. Unfortunately that’s not the way Lotus deals with it’s loyal...
