Spent about 5 hours getting to know the Emira more intimately in my garage. Installed Hawk Ceramic pads, GRP wheel spacers, GRP Titanium wheel bolts, and GRP aluminum carpet buttons. I also washed and detailed the wheels and calipers and touched up the ceramic coating on them as well.

So they’ll ban carbon fiber because of the risk of the fibers becoming airborne and contacting human skin but fiberglass remains a-ok? Someone explain the logic behind this to me, please

This is definitely an old car guy story from back in the day. I think there’s more to it than the composite panels and angled radiator… It could be the polarized windshield on the C4 ZR1 that could bounce or scramble old school radar, at least that was part of the myth.

I cover the engine bay with a large beach towel folded up more toward the back of the car when I wash it. Stops/catches most of the water getting in there and prevents water dripping in when you open the hatch back up to finish cleaning/washing.
I still get the P0111 code occasionally. I can almost trigger it on command with a sequence of drive mode changes which is interesting.
I have my first service appointment this week, I’ll bring it up to them.
