To begin. I have only posted my opinions on here and what I have observed with my strong opinions on this car. It’s a forum and it should be for discussion. And I’ve brought up my very strong points against this car. So let me leave my final thoughts.
I saw people freaking out about the price...
I want the Emira to succeed. Don't get me wrong. The issue here is they are making the same move that caused the Evora's to sit on dealer lots for years while collecting dust. I fully expect the first editions to sell out just like the initial Evora's sold out.
What I then see happening is...
It's more about comparables. Certain cars get compared to each other (C63 vs M3 vs RS5). Generally each one offers something unique but are close in price.
The GTS is what lotus said the Emira would be competing against ($95k CAD). Like it or not the vast majority of people who made deposits...
I'm sorry, I sell lotus cars. The know NOTHING about the Canadian market. This is a lightly spec'd GTS which is the main competitor for the V6 with premium package at 105k Canadian, some pain and a manual at 105K Canadian. Attached with a PDK GT4 at 122k Canadian.
This idea that lotus knows...
Lol 7 years to sell.
When you price a car at a certain level, the car has to sell itself, it is no longer in the hands of the salesmen.
Nobody walks into a Ferrari dealership and buys a Ferrari because the salesman convinced them it’s better than a Corolla.
These people come with cash in...
Just wait till V6 FE holders just know how badly they will get bent over after making a non-refundable deposit.
Oh please, I give my honest opinions to my customers, fortunately I don't work where I am expected to be a puppet.
The Emira is not the only car we sell. In the luxury car business...
With VAT removed, the GBP price of the Emira V6 FE is 61500 pounds. This converts to 105k Canadian roughly. Like I said earlier, this is a 105-110k car with auto being 110k.
Even looking at how it has been priced between the GTS and GT4 globally (95k CAD to 116k CAD). This was in our initially...
Zero information on i4 First Edition. We expect $130-140k OOTD.
For the V6, with luxury tax, adding black pack, destination fees, regular tax. You will be spending $140-150k for this thing.
I told my customers the pricing yesterday. 80% of them have backed out, the rest are waiting on the...
I work at a lotus dealership and here is what I have:
1. This is a new factory, you will have bugs, you will not get parts back in time
2. This car will weight more than the Cayman GTS and GT4
3. First Edition buyers are obviously test pilots, they removed the adaptive cruise and lumped...
This is what lotus priced themselves against in Canada. A GT car with PDK that is a non-depreciating asset and an established track weapon and the more tame GTS starts 30k below.
The number of emails I've gotten from people saying "I'm getting a Gt4 or a corvette" is comical.
I think these days you can't hide from the value propositions of cars. Lotus is producing a new sports cars with super car looks.
But with regards to value, this thing is slower than an Audi R8 made in 2008....14 years later. Its's using a Toyota engine from 2005 (16 years ago), with parts from...
