A serious Q. Why are Radar detectors so popular in the US? In the UK and I think most of Europe, they use Laser traps, which have do little scatter that detectors are pretty pointless i.e. By the time you have detected them, they have a reading of your speed. Have the US not moved to Laser traps yet?

The Valentine Gen2 pickup up Laser a mile away. So you hope the guy before you gets hit and you pick that up.Best location......... about 100m in front of you

Laser needs to be stationary and pointed at you as you approach (or move away). Radar can be a moving patrol car.
Waze + Valentine Gen 2 is pretty good protection. False alarms once in a while refocused me on driving.
