Ended up looking pretty much like the mockups I had posted over a year ago. The rear vent profiles are a little different. Also had a red pinstripe added around the bottom of the back and sides and switched out the stock yellow emblems for black. Now just need to get through the break-in miles.

Here is the original mockups

My instinct is "hard pass" on most cosmetics like this, but the hood accents and rear bumper vent 'extensions' definitely add drama in a way that doesn't detract. Don't think I'd do it on my Nimbus, but on a flashy color I do think it's a very interesting personalization!

Thanks, I posted on the facebook group as well and have been getting a very negative reaction. Quite surprising as everyone I had shown the car before and after really liked it. Maybe they were just being nice. I've done a good bit of design work in my life so I supposedly have good taste.

The idea started when I saw the Evija as in my opinion it just doesn't really even look finished without the accent pack. Too a lesser extent, I kinda felt the same way about the Emira.

Either way, I'm definitely happy with the results, just thought others would like it too.

Would you mind doing a version of mockups with the full Black Pack? It'd help me visualize if it looks good on my Emira. The YT video did pique my interest so far 🤔

I have no idea why but the mockups look good, the result (even though 1:1) somehow doesnt… sorry. But all that counts is you like it.

I think the rendering looks like gloss black accents but in real life it's more like satin dark gray.

I saw (and saved) the back vent mockup when you first posted. I have always liked those. However, the final rear vents look larger than the mockups. Could just be my eyes though.

Those rear decals actually ended up being a bit smaller. The top profile is basically dictated by that crease in the body, and originally I wanted to then bring the inside part down lower and have sort of a double angle like the tail lights on the Evija, but it didn't look right because of that sharp concave in the bumper. It would look fine from directly behind, but from the side that part would sort of curve back and forth as it went across the concave portion and looked weird.

We basically just went with a straight-line from the center of the concave portion of the bumper where the body crease ends as that was really the only thing that worked from all angles. From one side of the car it makes the inside portion of the decal start to look more angular, and from the other it looks more circular.

More photos, I think I probably need a closeup from a more overhead view on the hood vents to better show how they look in person. I thought the 360 video was the best way to get an idea of how it all looked, but maybe not.

I like it!.. I think gloss black would have been even better. As to the side vents I would soften the front edge as it is too sharp and pointy.

I really like the hood vents vinyl. Is there someone or somewhere I could get them in gloss black?

The proportions look great. For the rear I think i am going to do the CF piece that basically does what you are doing with making the rear vents look larger.

My Elise was very much accented with vinyl and most loved it but there are a few that don't. I didn't care as I like it ultimately. Kudos to being brave enough to do try this. I have some plans of my own too.

Yeah, gloss would work too if you wanted that look. I like the mixed finish look and actually originally wanted matte, but went with satin as a middle ground. The piece by the tail light is gloss though.

Everything was done with knifeless tape so unfortunately no way to easily reproduce pieces.

I like it but agree with some others that gloss black would would probably blend better with the gloss black vents / skirts etc

Very different and unique, well done 🔥
