Changing radio inputs with steering wheel controls

Sometimes when I'm using CarPlay I cannot use the steering wheel controls to advance songs. Seems to be stuck on radio. I can get to the menu that allows me to change from radio to CarPlay. Radio will have a filled in dot in front of it. I can highlight CarPlay but cannot choose it (get dot to fill in) CarPlay. I've tried just about every button.
Anyone else notice this

I have noticed something like this in the past. I will be using Spotify, but the dashboard function does not show it is in Spotify and therefore you can't use the steering wheel controls to forward a Spotify song, but the center screen does work. This has not happened for a long time. It used to correct itself after turning the car on/off.

Yeah I get that from time to time too. When I press the source button to switch back to my iPhone it’ll just toggle through am AM/FM. I need to turn the car off and open the door to deactivate the CarPlay and then I start the car again and it’s normal. Definitely a bug and hoping an upcoming software update will fix

Thanks for the replies. I was beginning to think I was missing something. I always use CarPlay and it works properly with the steering wheel controls until I turn off the car for a short time and come back to the car (stopping to get gas or something) then I'm stuck with radio controls till I stop again. No huge deal but a bug

Noticed similar issues before. Sometimes the dashboard doesn’t show Spotify, so steering wheel controls won’t work, but the center screen does. It usually fixes itself after restarting the car.

It's a pain, but on the iPhone you can disconnect them reconnect CarPlay while the car is running and that should reset this.
