Having been very impressed with the car, the main area that I think needs an improvement is the brake pads and they need replacing already. I've done quite a few track days in many different cars and road pads just don't hold up on track, no matter what the car is.

I've had a look through the post here https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/emira-brake-specs-confirmed-ap-racing-370mm-350mm.426/

But I'm struggling to find suppliers that actually list pads for the Emira, it seems they may be the same as the Evora 410?

I've spoken to my usual supplier for Winmax W5 www.kamracing.co.uk and he's getting them in but they won't be here before my next track day.

Any suggestions for a supplier and decent track pad type that will be held in UK stock?

This may be helpful as well if they are the same as the Evora GT:

I don't know about availability, but there are recent suggestions over on the track day prep thread for Pagid and Ferodo pads that I know come in fitments for the Exige and Evora:

You should talk to AP racing and ask them for the specific pad shape and pad width for the Lotus Emira, they should have this information in their system. Ask them for the specific pad shape code — there are two standards for pad shapes, but pads typically come in multiple widths. Pretty much anyone who makes track pads will make your pad shape and widths custom so long as you ask them. I’m pretty used to custom orders with various track pad companies.

Don’t use online stock systems, they’re notoriously bad at keeping a catalog of everything available. You’re gonna need to talk to a human.

Example: Carbotech XP 20 pads that took a couple weeks to make and get shipped for a custom annulus (width of swept rotor area) and pad thickness.

Edit: This may very well mean nobody will have them in “stock” but you can always ask for a rush order.

Did you happen to get the pad shape code / annulus / width specs for the rest of us?

This confirms it's the exact same pad as the Lotus Evora, thanks!

Any more specific recommendations on which pads? For road and 5ish Trackdays per year.

I'd get dedicated track pads if you'll be doing 5 days a year. They're easy enough to swap.

Having tried many different pad types in previous cars, winmax W5 are now my go to pad as they bite really well, never had them fade and they last a lot better than the alternatives. I've now got them in the Emira, my MX5 track car and my Leon Cupra daily that does occasional track use.

Do they squeal a lot? Brake dust? Thx

There's a little bit of squeal but nothing offensive and a quiet pad that works with heavy track use doesnt exist imo. Wheels are ceramic coated so no issues with brake dust.
