What do we realistically expect apart from "Drives like a Lotus should" and "Killer looks"? Nice to see decent pictures of cars, but still not production level, so fit and finish still come with caveats...
Most of the reviewers are just looking for channel content for ££. TG is an entertainment...
Any photos of a red interior car around yet? I'm currently struggling with customer service who've sent me confirmation of my spec via a link, that's both wrong, and not editable. I've already lost my 2022 slot, so nothing to loose by changing again!
Exactly the same buying history for me.
When I ordered my S1 Elise from Kinsey Jones in Bury, they assumed from my jeans and hoodie appearance that I wasn't worth bothering with. I politely inquired about a test drive (they did have demo cars in 1997) but was told "we don't offer test drives"...
There is a large amount of black in the quarter light behind the glass from the B pillar, that makes privacy glass tricky to spot (this is not a privacy equipped car). It will be more noticeable on the engine lid. Worth having IMO as the engine isn't exactly a jewel to behold and would still be...
DCT is an impressive technical solution but no longer streets ahead of an auto box. ZF Autos now shift so well BMW use them for the M3/M4. Add to the fact you don’t have the complexity and cost of a dual clutch replacement, auto is a good choice for a daily driver coping in traffic and B-road...
I've taken the hit and swapped my locked in spec (Magma with Tan) and gone for a more discreet "hewn from metal look" of:
Nimbus with no upper black pack
V6 Manual, Touring
Grey stitch
Silver calipers
DC Wheels
Privacy glass
Tracker
Delivery some time in 2023 (deposit 12th July)
Soul red is a cracking colour, but unfortunately Magma isn’t the same. If it wasn’t on the Emira, it’s rather boring imo. So many similar reds on the road at the moment.
I got the same answer. Once locked into the factory production schedule, changes put you in to 2023. This is because all build slots are allocated for 2022. I decided to change anyway, so I guess my build gets offered to a similar deposit holder.
Look close enough and you'll always see ppf edges unless panels are removed (no thanks!). I guess if folks were prepared to drive around with the black "car bras", then ppf is an amazing improvement. But keeping the paint tip top for the next buyer is like keeping the plastic on the seats or the...
TG test is still on a PP car though. Only real reviews will be June-July where back-to-back tests of V6 vs i4, Sports vs Touring can be done. What's the point in hearing about details that aren't ready?
It is indeed a joke that Lotus haven't supplied photos of cars and interiors, but that's because there aren't any finished ones to show. Supplying the safety car must have seen like a PR opportunity too good to miss, but now the internet is full of pictures they don't want the world to see, as...
