    Review embargo

What do we realistically expect apart from "Drives like a Lotus should" and "Killer looks"? Nice to see decent pictures of cars, but still not production level, so fit and finish still come with caveats... Most of the reviewers are just looking for channel content for ££. TG is an entertainment...

Nimbus Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

I think they’ll all be the same. Generic brush silver? Why on earth does the key have to be so goddamn big?

Another McLaren with a similar shade of red interior? (as mentioned before, Blade Silver is basically Nimbus)

A McLaren version of a Magma and Tan car? Skip to around 15 minutes if you want to feel better about the value of the FE, plus a few options!

Nimbus Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Any photos of a red interior car around yet? I'm currently struggling with customer service who've sent me confirmation of my spec via a link, that's both wrong, and not editable. I've already lost my 2022 slot, so nothing to loose by changing again!

Nimbus Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Damn. One step away from an earlier choice of Nimbus with Red Leather. Not sure if I like the shade or the big red strip across the dash..

Anyone doing the factory tour w/c 6 June?

Guide Nick said there were around 42 cycles, equating to 12 hours per car?

Just happy to be on board

Exactly the same buying history for me. When I ordered my S1 Elise from Kinsey Jones in Bury, they assumed from my jeans and hoodie appearance that I wasn't worth bothering with. I politely inquired about a test drive (they did have demo cars in 1997) but was told "we don't offer test drives"...

Seen 2 cars on the road Saturday alone

There is a large amount of black in the quarter light behind the glass from the B pillar, that makes privacy glass tricky to spot (this is not a privacy equipped car). It will be more noticeable on the engine lid. Worth having IMO as the engine isn't exactly a jewel to behold and would still be...

Last Minute Auto Wobble…Is i4 the right choice?

DCT is an impressive technical solution but no longer streets ahead of an auto box. ZF Autos now shift so well BMW use them for the M3/M4. Add to the fact you don’t have the complexity and cost of a dual clutch replacement, auto is a good choice for a daily driver coping in traffic and B-road...

Silver Forged wheels - photo simulation

Agreed. I’m pretty sure I saw some on the factory tour that looked like any other silver painted alloy wheel with a clear coat gloss lacquer.

Order placed? : post your —FINAL— spec here

I've taken the hit and swapped my locked in spec (Magma with Tan) and gone for a more discreet "hewn from metal look" of: Nimbus with no upper black pack V6 Manual, Touring Grey stitch Silver calipers DC Wheels Privacy glass Tracker Delivery some time in 2023 (deposit 12th July)

Magma Red Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Soul red is a cracking colour, but unfortunately Magma isn’t the same. If it wasn’t on the Emira, it’s rather boring imo. So many similar reds on the road at the moment.
  17. jamesbxxx

How locked in are the locked in configurations?

I got the same answer. Once locked into the factory production schedule, changes put you in to 2023. This is because all build slots are allocated for 2022. I decided to change anyway, so I guess my build gets offered to a similar deposit holder.

oh FFS !! (v6 vs i4 debate in my head)

What about the fact that the manual V6 is the only model with the mechanical LSD. Another big tick in the V6 box for me.

    Emira event in Melbourne

No point in having heavy gas struts for a bonnet that doesn’t open. It’s only needed for service elements like brake fluid change.

    Emira on track at Bathurst

    Sports or Touring here?

Indeed. Q4 2023. But Emira also due in 2023 for me now due to spec change after deadline

Magma on show at Lotus Driver's Academy site too...

I don't want Lotus to post any "official" photos based on this evidence! Leaked ones are far more representative...

Definitely doesn't look like this. This looked right to my eye vs phone photo.

    PPF on new car

Look close enough and you'll always see ppf edges unless panels are removed (no thanks!). I guess if folks were prepared to drive around with the black "car bras", then ppf is an amazing improvement. But keeping the paint tip top for the next buyer is like keeping the plastic on the seats or the...

Emira on front cover of British Top Gear magazine

TG test is still on a PP car though. Only real reviews will be June-July where back-to-back tests of V6 vs i4, Sports vs Touring can be done. What's the point in hearing about details that aren't ready?

    Future Emira colors

My guess is we'll see a "special edition" 007 white version in due time, as they obviously see the appeal with the target demographic.

Different spec. Emira Safety Car for BGT at Silverstone this weekend

It is indeed a joke that Lotus haven't supplied photos of cars and interiors, but that's because there aren't any finished ones to show. Supplying the safety car must have seen like a PR opportunity too good to miss, but now the internet is full of pictures they don't want the world to see, as...

Different spec. Emira Safety Car for BGT at Silverstone this weekend

Seat frames made by Lear. Lotus add the padding and leather etc. Supplied in bits by others, assembled in Hethel would be more accurate.
