The latest email from Lotus regarding the I4FE configurator going live stated that we could order the I4FE on 8th April.
Out of interest, does anyone know the next deposit amount?
I have worked in Manufacturing and Quality for over 35yrs and one thing is clear, you can't improve overall Quality overnight and increasing capacity comes with it's own foibles.
I asked a few pertinent questions during the roadshow which to be honest, didn't give me a lot of faith.
I asked...
I'm probably going to go with the I4 base, but to keep all options open. I am thinking to go ahead and configure the I4 FE and wait to see what happens when they announce the I4 Base prices and options list? I'm hoping that I will be able to change my order and keep my place at the front of the...
I'm probably going to go with the I4 base as mentioned above, but to keep all options open. Could I submit my configuration for the I4 FE and pay the extra deposit and wait to see what happens when they announce the I4 Base prices and options list? Will I be able to change my order and keep my...
My default option is always red, I currently have an Ardent Red Exige and a Brilliant Red R8. I've Gotta go for a different colour this time😲, especially as I will probably keep the Exige if I opt for the base car
This is my current thought. I wouldn't add too many options to the base car so £12,000 extra just wouldn't be worth it for me and my use(wknd summer car no track). Will probably go for the base and just wait a little longer. I'm an early depositor and slipping quickly down the waiting list😃
Just checked the Website and it states 195/KM Co2, which the gov website shows as Being £1345 as the first Tax.
Based on your info above, that would take a car with no options up to £74,445
Edited to add:
I think l will still order the 14 FE but maybe change to the base spec at some point.
I...
I like others are desperate for more info on the I4, so it's a shame you are reluctant to share but after reading some of the posts, I totally understand.
My worry regarding future prices is how ICE cars are going to be perceived by the public and Government going forward. Will we will be taxed out of them in some way? That's why I'm going I4 - More environmentally friendly😉
It's clear that the communication is poor and I really did think it would change/improve after some of our members visited. I'm starting to lose faith in getting the pricing for the I4FE. I'm a patient guy but after paying a deposit on 7th July, I have basically had one call to ask if I want to...
Out and out Power isn't a factor for me and my primary usage (Driving on Twisty mountain roads)
I have a S2 Exige 190BHP and an Audi R8 V8. Both great cars in their own right, but very different and both great at different things.
The Exige with only 190BHP is amazing on the Twisty mountain...
This is going against the grain for me. I've never bought a new car and paid for it fully in advance of picking it up. I have always paid upon collection to make sure I'm happy with it.
Part of me also worries that I've paid for something I havent received, what if the company becomes insolvent...
Not having a go at you Tom, we are lucky to be getting the information through you for which I and everyone is grateful.
But as you say, if we are told that we will get a call in Dec /Jan regarding the I4 FE orders, then that's what should have happened or at least been given a new date and a...
I don't know why, but I thought the I4FE calls were going to be December and then moved to Jan.
To have to wait until March to know the price doesn't feel good and I see no reason for it when you consider the V6FE has been announced sometime ago now.
I'm hoping the I4FE isn't going to come in more than £75K OTR otherwise it may mean a rethink for me.
I have similar thoughts as SJR202's comment "having to think very carefully whether I can justify spending c£80k+ on a car no matter how much the heart wants it."
I love all our reasoning to state why it's a good purchase proposition. Were preaching to each other and we are all ready converted:LOL::ROFLMAO:
Edit to say: Maybe we should setup some Evangelical type Emira Cult so that we can get our wives/partners to come to, so that they can believe also😉
I agree but my point was referring to the difficulty in keeping the I4 pricing to something similar to £6K based on the ever increasing supplier/manufacturing costs. Some people have definitely made the decision based on the price difference, what that % would be , I don't know.
Here's hoping...
I agree and it's going to make the I4 FE pricing tricky, they can't make it too close to the V6 because it may mean a lot of I4 FE people will switch to the V6. The FE cars may become the bargains, due to the ever changing economic situation.
I agree. I didn't think I wanted/needed a new weekend car until I watched the live unveiling and I was suckered in by the under £60K price tag and the looks, especially as I wanted the I4 car as my first choice. It will be a weekend/summer car so I'm not too bothered about the added...
Nothing wrong with being a scrooge, it's how I can afford an Emira;)
I agree, it's totally over the top IMO, I did think earlier that maybe they got the initial pricing wrong and are making it back in other ways.
Are we expecting the Tax on the I4 to be around £555 (Similar to the A45 AMG)for the first year rather than the £1910 on the V6?
