Yes, I agree. As Russell Carr said in an interview. With all body colour, you see the full volume of the car. With the black pack, it unifies the glass house. I have a black roof on my run about Mini, and I don't like that. So was never going to spec my Emira with the black pack. Personal choice...
Thank you, my car was close to the spec of the car that did a tour of the uk dealers, minus the black pack. Ofcourse will keep the forum informed of my adventures/ thoughts of the car as i get to grips of it. Your comment about my very early deposit, it seems my deposit was ignored, or Lotus...
Well guys, I collected my Emira yesterday from Lotus Silverstone. Aimee did the handover, absolutely brilliant service. She filmed me pulling the cover off and driving out of the show room, and sent them to me via WhatsApp. I would highly recommend them. In stark contrast to Lotus ofcourse. I...
Hi @emiraspain, sorry, I have not been on here for a few days. It has been a nightmare few days trying to get things sorted before this Saturday's delivery. I received the invoice email on Friday, unfortunately, 10 minutes before the bank closed. So, Saturday bank visit to pay for the car...
Oh ok, so you just live in Spain then. So not far from Brownhills where my Aunt lives and where im going tomorrow. You will have to let me know when you are back in the uk.
Yes, I was November build December delivery, had my checkout email 2 weeks ago, and that with the car rolling off the line 17th November. I have no idea if this the usual time scale for the preceedings.
Thank you, although a problem has arisen. The collection day is the same day as a rail strike, so, plan a cancelled. I do think 95 miles is a bit of a walk, so a fellow local forum member has kindly offered to give me a lift. I have never had so many problems/issues when buying a car.
Cheers mate, I have had the money parked in one account for a week, poised and ready for action. I did send an email, to feedback@lotuscars.com, perhaps a little harsh with a sprinkling of sarcasm. Got an email reply then a call next day. Seems that being tough with them gets results. It does...
Hi, got a call from LCC today, got to pay for Emira tomorrow, then delivery date 17th December. I can hardly believe it. Was beginning to think Lotus didn't want to sell/let me have the car.
Well, on my S2 Elise, in freezing conditions, I could not press the button in to open the door. Had to employ the kettle for assistance to get in. And, as you say, I wonder how the new style door handles work on a frosty day.
I know what you mean. I had an S2 Elise for 8 years as a daily. Plus 2 Caterhams for 8 years as a daily, with the boot opening by way of poppers. Still have not got out of the habit of putting shopping and the like on the passenger seat and in the footwell. Even in a 3 door hatchback.🤣
Well yes, Lotus have not got a good track record when it comes to the clerical/paperwork side of things. With reference to the build sequence not being in deposit order. This is a worrying thought you have raised.
I will give you that Tom. Yes, it looks to be somewhat larger than our yard. So does that mean, potentially at least, our cars could be stuck there twiddling their thumbs for a great deal of time?
Yes, for our business, but I don't think "logical" appears in the Lotus dictionary. You would think that the transport company in Upper Heyford would want to deliver the cars as quickly as possible, as surely they have not got unlimited space to keep them.
Well, maybe transporting cars, there are issues. But, having worked in general haulage for over 30 years, I have to say, whatever goods come into our yard, goes out within a day or two. It has to, as there is not enough room for goods to stay any longer.
Agree, this, without a shadow of a doubt, is the worse car buying experience I have had in 40 years of buying cars. As you say, it has definitely taken the shine of the car, from initially being very excited about it 3 years and 2 months ago, to even considering selling it and getting something...
Their first mistake was not building cars in deposit order, like Porsche do. At Porsche, there is none of this queue jumping or VIP's going to the front of the queue. It is first come first served. I have no problem waiting behind people with earlier deposits than me, that is only fair, but i do...
