Found out that a car of very similar spec to mine was handed over today at Lotus Silverstone. So there was obviously no problem supplying that car, but wasa problem supplying mine. So, from where I am sitting, for 3 years and 2 months I was constantly told I was the first to deposit for the 131...
Yes, i did notice that a fellow forum member got the checkout email one day before me, and delivery is tomorrow. So it seems that not only is the build sequence is set by names out of hat, so the same system is being used for deliveries aswell.
Yes, i have been told my car, and, well i am guessing here, probably your car aswell, are in Upper Heyford. Which dealer are you collecting your car from?
Yes, i am also on the high tech delivery spreadsheet, and same as yourself, i am to a dealer only 20 miles from Upper Heyford. So, im thinking my car must arrive with a certificate of provenance for being the slowest moving Lotus in the companies 74 year history.
Totally agree with everything you have said. In my case, my car is in Upper Heyford, where the cars are transported from to customers homes or dealers. I am collecting my car from Lotus Silverstone only 20 miles away from said Upper Heyford. So, the question i can't get an answer to, is why is...
Hi, no i didn't select any of these from Lotus. There is a company 2 miles from me called Autoshine & Tinting who specialises in PPF, Ceramic coatings etc, so i will be getting it done there. They have already had an Emira in so have put together a number of packages together for the car.
Thats great. I opted for Lotus Silverstone collection as i like the whole experience of new car handover at a dealer. I have had about 8 new cars in the past. The only exception to this was a Caterham R300 i built from the kit, then after the post build check was delivered to my house.
Well guys, today marks 3 years and 2 months since i put my first deposit down on the Emira. Also, 16th December marks 40 years since the death of Colin Chapman. I wonder if there will be anything from Lotus to commemorate this.
I had the leather seats in the test car. Even though i did not fine tune the seat to my personal preference, but got it ok, i found the seat very comfortable.
Yes, he said his deposit was at reveal at Hethel 6th July. Clearly well after US LOT on this forum with pre reveal deposits. Clearly, if you are rich and famous, you take priority over enthusiasts.
I thought the gear change was great on the test car. Do you mean that from the "number plate and delivery date" phone call, that delivery could be effectively next day?
Mine is Seneca Blue, diamond cut wheels with yellow calipers. No black pack. Sports/Cup2's, leather steering wheel and Black Alcantara with yellow stitch. What is your colour?
Yes, I have done the ID verification aswell last week. It would not work with my phone but did on my tablet. CC said many customers have had problems with it. Just waiting for the registration number and delivery date phone call.
In the Harry's video, he did ask Gavan about that. Gavan told Harry that it would not be a true Lotus using that system. Given Gavans 32 years at Lotus, he knows what a Lotus should be, the DNA, and trained by the late great Roger Becker among others, i think he is more than qualified in this area.
Yes but, for me Hethel is 200 miles away. This is personal preference I know, and many on here will have a different view, I really like the whole experience of collecting a new car from a dealer.
Test driving the touring, having come from 2 Caterhams and an S2 Elise, I felt is was a bit to soft for me. Sports suspension, I think will be perfect for me, as the car will be mostly doing service on track days with Lotus on Track. I do think though, if someone is new to Lotus, the touring...
Well I know my car rolled off the line/completed 17th November. I am told the next step is a call from Lotus with the registration number and delivery date. The delivery date is usually about a week from the phone call.🤞
Has anyone else had the "rather than concentrating and putting every effort into delivering your car, here is 3 videos we have made instead, to help you pass the time till you get your car"?
Well i have been told that my car is complete and at Upper Heyford for PDI. The next call i get from CC should be the "here is your number plate and delivery date". The delivery date is, well allegedly, a week after the call.
Yes, i completed the checkout email on Saturday. Had the verification id email but did not work. Requested another to be sent, but not received it yet. It seems they want the suffering of buying a car from Lotus to continue right up to the delivery. Even beginning to think they don't want to...
