The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

I just got back from test driving the same car. I’ve driven the following Lotuses over the years: ‘85 Turbo Esprit; Series III Super Seven Super Sprint; Elise; Exige; Evora S. The Emira is light years ahead in build quality and construction. Beautiful car, inside and out. Very comfortable...

Anyone thinking twice about buying Emira?

This is my everyday car, a ‘18 CTR FK8 that I bought new (took some work but I finally bought one at MSRP back then). Even though I’m 54 yrs old (gulp!), I gotta say that for the money there’s no better car, at least that I’ve had/driven. It’s an amazing piece of engineering for certain! It...

What do our American friends think of these?

Hello there. I haven’t personally driven a Mach I, but I have driven a ‘16 GT350, both on the road and at VIR raceway. Superb, fantastic car! It really is a ‘sports car’ in most senses of the word. I’d say its biggest fault is its weight (it certainly ain’t no Lotus that’s for sure!). But...

Porsche 992 GT3 RS customers are already flipping their allocations for $650,000 CAD ($500,000 USD)

Very interesting informative thought provoking discussion! I’ve thought about this a lot in the past 6 months; and I also feel that something needs to be done. This is what I’ve been thinking, in order to stop the flipping/scalping/ADMing: Dealerships continue to receive cars from...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

I seriously considered a C7 ZR1 but the prices were just a bit too much for me. I really did want a hard core ‘bonkers’ type car, with a manual trans, and ended up with this ‘20 ZL1 1LE. it’s one I’ll never sell, as I fear there will not be anything like it made in the future (big displacement...

    Look what I parked beside......

Waaaay back in the day I owned an ‘85 Turbo Esprit. Even autocrossed it once (this would be circa 1992 or so)

a car 'For the gap', inviting suggestions

PS the fuel economy is TERRIBLE. as in, I’m averaging 12-13 mpg in mixed street driving. Guys who are tracking them are in the 3.1 to 3.4 mpg range. Premium only of course (I run 93 only as it pulls timing on 91 or 92. Gotta have all 650 ponies pulling!). But the noise it makes with the...

a car 'For the gap', inviting suggestions

I also own a ‘20 ZLE 6sp manual. It’s a totally nuts car - every time I drive it I think to myself ‘I can’t believe they sell this car straight off the show room floor!!’ I totally love mine, but would NOT recommend the ZL1 1LE for everyday street use. The suspension is too brutal (and the...

a car 'For the gap', inviting suggestions

most of you will be like ‘oh phooey!!!’, but hear me out. I have a 2018 FK8 Honda Civic Type R in my stable. And it is simply amazing. At everything. Fantastic engine. Fantastic manual gearbox. Incredible suspension and handling and brakes for a FWD car. Very reliable and well put...

Further thoughts on the Emira from Chris Harris

Hello fellas. I hadn’t seen this one before. He fields his thoughts on the car and he says sort of what I’ve been feeling about the car too.

No regrets on reversing my position

I think the 0-60 test and the 1/4 mile test (when it’s a manual) have some variability to them with respect to how much you care about your car. Case in point (I’m in the USA): back in the day before YouTube and internet, I was still always hungry for every scrap of info I could get on cars...

    Emotional vs Capability/Ability

I’ve been reading (like everyone!) the explosion of threads. I think it’s important to know or understand that there are, I suppose, two different sorts of customers buying the Emira. Some (myself) are buying and planning use of the car as a 3rd or weekend or ‘take out and use for fun’ car...

Now that reviews are out is anyone having 2nd thoughts about Emira ?

It’s basically exactly what I expected - road feel and steering are perfect Lotus. Cabin hugely improved. Exterior is a knockout. We already knew coming in that the drivetrain was a slightly detuned version of previous!!! I’m happy with the reviews so far. PS. Not one person has...

OK. Be honest. Looks or Performance?

the way it drives and feels from the tips of my toes to the sensations of the pedals when I'm working them and the clickety click of the manual shifter and the sounds that the engine makes on song as it pulls to redline. that's what's most important to me. the real hard numbers that it puts...

    Lotus Philadelphia coming 2023!

That’s great that we are all different colors! Yes we will definitely have to all get together sometime. This will be a street car for me to enjoy, but I do own a Super Seven Super Sport which I vintage race with VRG (so I’m a Lotus lover!!).

    Lotus Philadelphia coming 2023!

mine is V6 6sp manual, Dark Verdant, half black pack, tan interior, Sports Chassis, silver calipers and diamond cut wheels with Goodyear tires. I only just put my deposit down a month ago so I’m guessing maybe 3rd or 4th qtr of 2023 or so?

    Lotus Philadelphia coming 2023!

Hey VL3X - I’m in the exact same boat as you - I placed my order with North Jersey too, but I live just outside of Newark DE, so West Chester is MUCH closer to me than Summit NJ!! I’m so glad to hear about this happening!!
