Great, comprehensive write-up. Will be good to get your continuing thoughts as you put more miles on.
I am still formulating initial thoughts on mine, only 150 miles in so far.
I actually can't decide whether I would prefer the black/silver badges - a little while ago, before we got the car, I was certain I would want to change them, but now, seeing it in person, I do actually like the yellow/black badges... Might live with it for a while and decide whether to change...
I have a few of these - Got a blue one in L size for the Emira and it fits nice, not too snug. Is one layer, not fleece lined or anything, but is nice and soft and does a good job of keeping dust off (I have a few others for other cars - I have a M size for my RX-8, but think it would be too...
Picked ours up today. Fantastic afternoon at the factory, then a 3-hour drive home getting the running-in started.
Will follow with a full write-up, but initial thoughts are this is a brilliant car to drive. The gear shifts are excellent.
Nice write-up. What day were you there? Can't wait, picking mine up from the Factory on Monday!!... And just noticed the reg on their demo is only one character off the reg mine will be initially registered with 😃
Temperature is a huge factor. That test video linked above was at 25-27C (77-80F) ambient temps, i.e. hot!! At temps much lower, say below 7C (45F) , it would be a VERY different story indeed.
Interestingly, from the quotes I got, their black box policy was way more expensive for us than their normal policies... Thank goodness!! Although I would happily pay more for any non black box policy.
Oh I had the joy of Santander fraud checks the other day too... Took nearly an hour, all sorts of checks and questions... Think she even knows my shoe size now!!
Anyway, would rather they were thorough, better to be safe... Although did finish the conversation knowing that if there was any...
We have one of our current cars insured with Admiral - just been on to look at adding the Emira to the policy - Doesn't recognise the reg number (although that doesn't come up on the gov.uk site yet either, so assume it is only 'allocated' to my car and not actually 'registered' yet), but does...
Very well put - The key for me too is the overall visibility - I want to be able to see the front of the car, so I can judge exactly how close to corner apexes I am getting, whilst maintaining a good view out the sides and rearwards too.
Interestingly, due to the shape of the Emira side windows...
You'll want to be careful if you are planning to store the car for any length of time on those - the two rollers will be small-area high-pressure points on the tyres, so not ideal - you ideally want something with a concave area, or even flat ground would be better than those for longer-term...
The Emira is simply one of the most beautiful cars ever built - Firmly in my personal top 10 of all time, and the singular most beautiful car for sale today. That plus the fact the Lotus brand is Iconic, is enough for me. (I am expecting the driving dynamics to be sublime, but only having had...
