It was listed under events at a Lotus group in northern VA. Look up Nova lotus.

The note said: " the Emira that would be used as our demo for the event will not be available".

I really do not understand the certification process but do know that Lotus shipped multiple Emiras to the USA for customers & potential customers to test drive. I too placed an order. Sent from Surrey, England and in 3 days at my front door ! I hope my Lotus Emira arrives within 30 months from date of order.

I was informed of multiple delays. Last communication lead me to believe my car was in production with a late May arrival.

I also got the email and then spoke to the owner of the Lotus dealership where I placed my order. Boys and Girls, no Emira automobiles have yet been built with specs for the US market. No need to worry about shipping or storage. Everyone including US dealerships were misled. The Lotus company...

I have never seen a new edition car launch so screwed up. Lotus is quickly losing all credibility.

NOVA, by the time you get your Emira and put on the first 1000 miles, Lotus of DC/MD may finally have their dealership ready to service your car !!

Degrace, you are correct. Put that $$ into a MMF. No expenses and slightly over4.10% return. There are no penalties to withdraw the cash. Kit, like you said, if you tighten your belt, you can save money so that your downpayment increases and what you borrow decreases.

Dear VLX3, my dealer reached out last week via email about the 12 week delay. The lines of communication are open and i have no issues with the dealership.

Flying to Hanoi, Vietnam, then on to Seim Reap in Cambodia. Will cruise the Mekong and then a few days in Ho Chi Min City.

If it was a daily driver, I understand your position. At under $100,000 for the FE , I believe this " super sports car" is fairly priced. You can always replace the sound system once you determine it is not up to your expectations.

Unbelievable that you are complaining about a sound system you have not heard. Oh, do you plan sitting in this super car to listen to the radio ? I plan to drive and enjoy the music from the engine.

Dommo, your info maybe spot on but I doubt it. Do you think the Emira I 4 is similiar to the Tucker automobile ? In the software space, small companies promise the world in tech advances to sell you a product. What they show you still has components in development and may not yet be attainable...

Tom, I do not have a crystal ball and maybe China is the best place for Lotus to open new dealerships. However, just maybe their Chinese partner ( Greely ) made that call ???

D. I agree with your assessment but not the production numbers. Likely 2-3K per year. Also what % of those Emira's get shipped to the US ? I believe 10,000 deposits are realistic and many will continue the long wait for their dream car.

For those in the DMV area plus others your idea has merit.

It appears there may be 3 Emira's at Katies Cars & Coffee as I am 25 min. away.

Max, I do not troll the social media outlets. What I do know is the email was addressed to me and was also a welcome to the Lotus family. Any (even a semi personal )communication is appreciated as I wait for my car to be delivered.

I just received an email season's greeting card from Lotus Cars USA ! This is good PR and actually eases the waiting period somewhat by adding positive thoughts when I dream about my Emira.
