Having seen the sample disc on a Fire Red Exige , I would agree as others have that is near as damn it the colour you will get. Maroon in dull light, sparkles brighter in full sun.
Re IPS I can only assume you have tried them in the Exige or Evora S1, to which I would agree with the tardy statement. However in the Evora 4xx models the auto was much faster, similar to AMG GT I had, at which point it makes the manuals look tardy ;).
Re the exhaust , for the Exige 380 and...
Exactly this, I’m in the same boat as can’t make that final final decision on colour. Poor marketing by Lotus not to have 6 cars painted in the different FE colours , professionally photographed so buyers can compare and make an informed purchase. Not rocket science.
Anyone from LOTUS on here...
Remember the blue car has been lowered and wheels spaced out wider to fill the arches, making the car look lower. This shot of the grey car on road going suspension shows the roofline to look quite high vs rest of car , kinda dumpy looking imho
Its why we need to see actual cars...
For those that have never owned or experienced a Lotus, the ride quality is exemplary for a sports car. The Evora would challenge most exec saloons for ride quality.
Even the Exige can cover large distances. I’ve mentioned before I had one day where I did 700 miles in 24 hrs in an Exige...
if Touring is equivalent to Evora 400 , then my 400 was limo quality ride . I’m going Sport and plan to cover similar distances per day on driving hols. That said I’ve done similar miles in Exige V6 and Ktm XBOW so maybe I’m a bit weird ;)
So had confirmation today from Lotus that early deposit holders of V6 FE will probably NOT get to see images of cars sprayed in the 6 FE colours before cars are starting to get built :(.
Not the best experience having to decide final colour of circa £80k car based on potentially inaccurate...
Probably best to ignore any UK specs then, as until we can see photographs of final colours on cars there is a good chance final decisions will change. However I respect this is your thread so I’ll leave you guys to it (y)
So UK buyers getting first cars globally, feeding back the need to see cars in the other colours in the flesh and then the first yellow car turns up in China !
Baffled by Lotus sometimes
Never fall for the “ they didn’t tell me otherwise“ . Get confirmation if you want to be sure.
I too have been faltering at final colour after @Eagle7 thread on renders. Not until I see final photos of painted cars can I make a final decision and I would expect Lotus to understand that, and...
Forgot I also asked question when will i4 FE price be released as unfair to expect customers to make final commit payment without knowing the price difference vs V6 FE . I was told January.
Hope Lotus don‘t play silly buggers and delay pricing until after commits for V6 FE.
Losing the love at...
So had my 3rd call today, being a 4th June depositor. Was told to expect my car for June. When I pointed out that I was initially told end of April, start of May, they couldn’t advise the reason for delays :(.
@Eagle7 stunning work and as stated before puts Lotus to shame for their renders to date.
Like others on here I’m now in a quandary which colour to go for
The red is definitely out as too burgundy for my personal taste.
If the yellow was metallic it would win hands down. I’m just not...
Not knowing the US market, I would say 1). If the Evora isn’t that popular over there then people will see it as the last model vs Emira . Great cars though
@Balboa that is a beaut! Always fancied one but wasn’t sure if your upper torso sits quite pronounce from such a low bodywork. Didn’t want to look like Herman Munster when driving :D
What are they like to drive ?
Have had 4 Lotus v6 manuals but then in last Evora 400 had the auto which I found was excellent and preferred for that type of car. I never drove the car in full auto, as enjoyed driving with paddles too much.
On that basis I’ve gone v6 auto for the Emira as perfect for road hoons.
Very jealous of the other air cooled 911s on here
Enjoyed my basic 3.2 Carrera until the head studs went :( . Something special about an air cooled porker . Would love a 993, but not paying silly prices at the mo.
997 GT3 club sport spec with ceramics. The metzger engine was magical and absolutely mental when it got near the redline. Handling was sublime with incredible mechanical grip.
For road use however I found it to be disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, when absolutely on it , the car was immense...
