Remember though this was on a smooth track. If I was running one of these as a daily I reckon touring is a good compromise. For me personally the car will be a weekend toy so have gone sports chassis.
after seeing the car in the flesh I would say the diamond cut will be easiest to appear clean as the dark grey inserts will hide dirt and brake dust well.
I think Nimbus will be the classiest look for the car as will really show off the curves and lines.
Anyone else notice noise from exhaust is a tad muted vs Evora 4xx which for me is a good thing as I found mine too loud on the road some times when hooning it.
Will be plenty of aftermarket versions if not. Bought my black versions for my first Evora from Lotus Silverstone after losing two of the yellow ones on a certain long toll circuit in Germany 😇.
You need 100% trust in installers, as mentioned before k saw 2 Ferraris being de wrapped to find cuts to bodywork that required a respray. Also pulled paint off the plastic bumpers.
I‘l stick to good old paint ;)
Sure Mike. I started a new thread as I’ve derailed this one enough already ;). Still have the car btw as love it. https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/lotus-elan-plus-2-insight-to-buying-and-owning.379/
As requested from another thread - mods feel free to place where you feel appropriate
OK my insight into buying an Elan +2 , which is basically applicable to the Elan as well. Note I’m by no means an expert here, but have spent the last 3 years on and off researching these cars, viewing several...
Got pulled in the Evora for having no front plate. Had to get the coppers to go through their toolkits to see if they had screwdriver so I could put the plate bracket back on lol
Yep more a dark grey. I was against these wheeLe based on photos and configurator as the diamond cut faces stood out too much. When I saw the car in the flesh this wasn’t the case, in addition to being a finish that hides brake dust better . I’ve now changed mind and gone with these wheels.
Up for that. Organiser of trip we do lives on IOM and we stay at Ramsey Park Hotel, which is handy for early morning runs over mountain. Done it in Exige 380, Evora 400 and AMG GT roadster. Great roads
Usually pop over to IOM end of May with group of petrolheads, but not sure if I’ll have Emira by then based on June 4th deposit  Not sure my 51 year old Elan will keep up over the mountains with the Lambos and McLarens:D
Would be a shame as potential good publicity for Emira as we get...
My Evora 400 had better ride quality than quite a few so called exec saloons. The 410 I test drove was just a little stiffer but still a comfortable ride for a sports car.
As suggested ideally you need to take a ride out in an Evora.
In flesh it just looked a silver to me, nothing like the configurator. My photo in sunlight with pics of white and grey card for anyone who wants to white balance.
Was just re watching the carfection review when I noted it shared a shot of a blue Emira without the black pack. My initial thoughts were that roof line looks high. Anyone else ? Obviously more prominent on the brighter colours.
I must admit when I saw the car in the flesh, looking at the...
Yes I did, albeit with red callipers and red leather ;).
I just struggled to visualise what the car will look like based on colour swatches, which don’t align with configurator :cautious:
I was tempted by nimbus grey based on configurator, but due to above the two didn’t align so I went the...
Lotus are positioning this car to Include people who want to use the car as a daily runner. I for one have insisted on adaptive cruise on my last 2 daily cars as makes for a much more relaxing drive on congested roads. Not much to ask of a £80K FE car.
Evora was similarly sound damped to any 911 I have owned. In fact when you “closed“ the exhaust it could be hard to hear any noise. Open the exhaust and floor the throttle it’s a different matter though With a wonderful sound .
Test drive an Evora for real life experience.
Also had to scratch the Esprit itch about 5 years ago. Was amazed how well the car rode and handled for such an old car. They still look stunning today vs modern machinery. Anyway photo of said car ….did look good in red.
