Hi all.
Not been on the forums for ages. My Emira is my daily driver and still loving it and amazed at how capable it is.
I have reached 10,000 miles, it is winter and the car is sliding all over the place.
I can't bring myself to check the wear but I am assuming I am almost at slicks, which I...
Not been here for a while. I hope you are all well and are either enjoying your own Emira or shaking in excitement with one on the horizon!
I remain a stunned fan of the Emira. It has actually, simply, gotten better and better over each passing month.
I feel like I am in a special club, party...
Not my best quality video but, for fun, I created little snapshots of 25 cars that you have to identify.
Nobody has even got 20 yet and I thought it was not that hard! Of course, I created it so I don't really know how I would have done. :)
Good luck!
Not my best video. Buggered up the cameras and mics and didn't want to post it but the overall remarks from Katie did make it a worthwhile upload.
Katie did drive my car but it didn't make the video.
Even before then she rated the Emira as highly as any McLaren before you passed the 720.
She...
Just added this one up for your amusement :D
I have to sell one or both of these cars as part of my plans. If one goes, then I might be able to actually keep the other. I love them both and it is very close.
Of course, as a daily proposition the Emira smashes it!
The new Larini 2-part...
Inevitably, on a forum, you hear about the grief of some owners but, my goodness, the car drives amazingly, gets better, louder and more fun as one puts on the miles and bonds with the car.
Oh, and the looks...
Knockout Lotus and I completed our track day at Donnington today. Full video to come soon. Make sure you Subscribed at https://youtube.com/@revmonkey to see it.
This is me, much relieved after surviving the track day unscathed.
Yeah , yeah... I know.... You thought this was Tom Cruise in...
Well, 5 weeks later (!) I picked the car up today as I need it for a track day on Monday at Donnington (anybody going?)
Long story short.. Larini took everything off as they are waiting for a delayed part which is in connection with the valve.
This is the new manifold, sports cat replacement...
Ha, I didn't love it at first. I thought 'OMG, the car has completely changed!' and then I started looking at it and wow, what an improvement.
Now I am very happy.
If you do wish to use GVE London then mention RevMoney10 for a 10% discount on any service.
They had to do a LOT of prep on my car...
Ha, might be a bit controversial and, as usual, this is only my opinion - mostly about the suspension. Cough. :ninja:
Please ask questions as comments on the video so others get to see the information.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this car.
Agh. You can see here why I am so reticent to sell my Ferrari.
I bought it as the Emira was delayed and I would have missed the summer of 2022 without a wicked sports car.
I did plan on keeping both car and sell the C63 but I need the funds from one car for an investment opportunity.
One has...
This started off as a really weird day as all of these last 21 months of waiting, with all sorts of shenanigans, left me a tad under-excited when I should have been over the moon and delirious with emotion.
Life changes. I was fully expecting to have to sell it ASAP but it was like meeting a...
Lotus very kindly placed all the cars in a row to help us all see the differences in the colours of the cars plus the different wheel, caliper, black pack and interior options, bar a couple of them. They said it was the first time ever that the cars were together like this!
Bottom line is that...
I found myself in the fortunate position of being invited to Hethel to spend a full day being the first person, outside of Lotus staff, to drive a fully finished production car in the UK.
The focus was on the car itself, not issues. I wanted to focus on how the car made me feel. Did it deliver...
My phone rang by the side of me on my desk... 0330..... Don;t panic!
Lovely lady.
Me: Oh, give me some good news! My car is ready next week and it is free! :)
Lady: Ah, sorry, not the news you want.
She confirmed I was still in the top 100 (I think I was originally 50 - 60 having been a...
Funny seeing all the new members with the Emira. Very envious.
Since I put the deposit down, I have:
Been married 3 times
Divorced twice
Bought 3 cars and 2 motorcycles
Been to 17 different countries
Had one more child
Lost all my hair
Shrunk one inch
Watched every episode of Friends...
Apart from the hybrid element, almost like a big brother to the Emira and some similar styling cues.
He says similar things about the Emira - well, never mentioned light :D
Seems the Artura might be the next step for Emira owners - a more accessible McLaren.
Might even be my journey.
Emira...
Well, after having a good look around I decided to go with GVE in London, for the PPF and other work, and will have my car delivered there and then delivered back to me.
This is my first new car for over a decade and it means a lot to me.
My rationale on using GVW is based on the incredible...
To be fair - what a car!!
IF one coujld get it for list at £108k then yes, it has to be a contender for anyone's money buy I suspect these will not be buyable for you and me for less than about £200K on release. 😒
Competition. Well, not really. This is faster and more track orientated.
What...
Makes the Emira look even more of a bargain.
Twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre Ford V6. 550bhp. No idea of the weight.
Double-wishbone suspension at each corner with coilover springs and passive dampers.
GRP body.
Hydraulically assisted power steering
6-Speed Manual
Rings some bells.
Noble...
