Today I was told by Lotus that I cannot receive my car back from them until they get their seatbelt parts in stock.
For context, the breakdown issue I had at a petrol station was nearly 6 weeks ago,Lotus fooled around with collection, even sending a van,yes a VAN,to pick it up one time.
They...
I love this car,but a second occasion where I've been embarrassed and it's immobile.
This time a breakdown at a petrol court ( yes aware its supermarket but I had 20 miles left and it was super unleaded)..
Literally ran fine for an hour, stopped to get fuel, wouldn't start.
Electrics turned on...
Morning all,
Looking at track days, at wondering if anyone has identified what the Db levels of the Emira are for noise limits?
Has anyone tested or read this somewhere already?
I did read that Track mode is actually quite on the go than sport mode, maybe for this reason?
But different tracks...
Not completely sold by My Emira,(no pleasing me it seems),I am taking it on a couple of road trips before I make a decision on whether it stays beyond summer.
1st trip- NC500
2nd trip,Switzerland, Como, Monaco in June.
There are a number of reasons why I'm in two minds, one being is it worth...
A question I keep meaning to ask, does any owner have the passenger footwell storage net?
Mine doesn't have one, but a show car did and the specifications for FE says there should be one too.
Well,I'm not a happy chappy today.
144 miles in and poofff..
Smoke and oil blowing out the back.
Still not gone above 4500 rpm as quoted and this happens.
Yes ,these things happen I'll take that.
But the roadside assistance that followed was poor and unclear. The call centre is in Athens...
Now that a week has passed since the elation on the day of collection, I have gathered a few thoughts.
Caveats:
Miles driven:110
Days used: 2
Road conditions:Salty and wet!
Limitations: Still half throttling revs up to 1000 miles.
Drive:
It pulls in every gear , unfortunately I still have to...
I know there is a handy USB port for the front dash cam,but has anyone actually fitted a rear camera in it yet?
The wife bought me a nextbase 622gw bundle and it's got the wired rear camera, something I'm abit dubious about fitting.
Has anyone gone to the trouble of having the wires hidden in...
So today was the collection day from Solihull, handover was a great experience, if abit surreal that its actually arrived.
There was an issue with the tracker not being set up on time, standard Lotus.
The dealer sorted it whilst we there,no problem.
one thing i will say if you have the...
As I'm picking up the car tomorrow,I had the pre collection call yesterday and was told to "keep the car up to half throttle/acceleration" for the first 1000 miles,as expected and I believe as to the manual.
However ,I was also told by other Lotus colleagues and enthusiasts that the occasional...
I've had the registration through for the new car, but it starts AO72 - i thought all were AU72?
Is this expected or is it yet another c*ck up?
Regards
Dan
Moderator edit: post copied from test drives thread and edited for section about warranties and track days
I managed to get a last minute slot at sliverstone today, glad I did.
<snip>
I asked about track days vs warranty.
I was told previously at Silverstone that this would void warranty...
After an arsey email sent to Lotus articulating my lack of belief that they will keep to their promised schedule and the lack of communication, I had a reassuring (if not another diversion) response which also includes what I presume is the rewording for the often used "SOON"
"We will be...
*(apologies if i have already missed this post)*
At least they have finally changed the dates on the website, from Spring 2022......
I still have 0 faith it will be 2022, and i guess we have already missed Q3..... bit of a pointless change
Q3 2023 for Base... (my arse)
As the excitement for the Emira has all but gone especially with first customer deliveries going to Europe now and not the UK,I'm rather miffed and demotivated for the FE and considering postponing for the Base model.
Has anyone established an options costs yet?
Would anyone be brave enough...
Taken from a post on FB, someone did a great job of sneaking up on a white prototype Emira with this gorgeous red interior.
I saw the white interior in the wild and thought how plush it was and nicely fitted, but I'm glad I've seen an example of the red also now,as its my spec.
Good work,Lotus
I may be losing my marbles, but i swear my package came to under £80k recently.
Now it is over, i presume the Road Fund Licence has gone up again? That tank of fuel must be killing them...
I asked customer service today if the GT4 components such as the wing and splitter would be available for the base and FE Emira's, the answer was a flat NO,as these are designed fir the track, not the road.
However, I was told that aero and other parts are currently being designed by the Lotus...
So after seeing my choice of Hethel Yellow today, alongside the magma red and the nimbus silver,I felt disappointed in my decision.
As a launch day deposit holder I was locked in early on colour choice without seeing the different colours on the cars,I knew the risk, I took it,I wanted it early...
I saw the magma emira today with the ice interior, obviously a pre prod test mule but what stood out to me was that the seats looked fantastic compared to the original show tour cars.
The chap mentioned that these seats aren't even the finished product.
The Interior looked sublime as well...
I spoke to a helpful lad in CS today, initially asking for Eletre price, to be "shocked "(actually not anymore) that this hadnt been communicated across Lotus already, especially considering the reveal was last night.... Comms.....
Anyhow, i pressed about test drives for early depositors, its...
Last Edition Evora vs V6 Manual Emira.
That age old question - which car is best for retaining or even gaining value down the line ( bear with me ).
i'll set the scene first, i'll be driving mine like its supposed to be driven , but there once was a time where i saw this as a potential...
Apologies if shared already, but i have just noticed the provisional WLTP readings on the Lotus Website:
Provisional WLTP fuel consumption for the Emira First Edition V6 Manual in mpg (l/100km): Low 16.5 (17.1), Medium 25.9 (10.9), High 30.2 (9.4), Extra High 29.0 (9.7), Combined 26.0 (10.8)...
First World problems I know, but due to a house move this year there is the risk that i go from a current double garage to a potential single garage, which is not ideal I know Unfortunately most houses nowadays have these silly little pointless garages.
I highly doubt it, but does anyone believe...
Slightly misleading scary title, but for those who are unaware, there will be mandatory speed limiter "warning" systems fitted to all new cars this year, which unfortunately means we will see this in the Emira...
On-the-road Costs
Includes delivery to a Lotus Agent for your collection, or delivery to your home address or place of work in the UK, cost of number plates, a full tank of fuel, pre-delivery inspection and valet.
£1,045
Firstly - The New Configuratior is amazing - well done Lotus!
At the...
Note to all - there are 2 separate figures of your On the Road price - one on the left and one on the right - they differ.
From what i can tell, the figure on the right is duplicating the added on options cost.
I have reached out to Lotus to confirm this as they agree it does not look right...
As an Ayrton-obsessed child i was brought up on the days of the Lotus in the JPS livery and the beauty has stuck with me ever since.
I'm down for a First edition Emira in June (currently...) and would love to eventually have a JPS Colour scheme applied to the car,i've been told a "Wrap" is the...
