Not back to back, but I've driven both, and didn't notice any big difference. Significantly increasing rear spring rate only would also shift the balance much more toward oversteer. Lotus would have no reason to do this, just as they would have no reason to have a significantly different ride...
It's unlikely the I4 has significantly different stiffness than the V6. Only the rear spring rates are different. The I4 has a different rear subframe so it probably just needed different pickup points and therefore motion ratios. The different rear springs are probably just what they needed...
Yeah, gloss would work too if you wanted that look. I like the mixed finish look and actually originally wanted matte, but went with satin as a middle ground. The piece by the tail light is gloss though.
Everything was done with knifeless tape so unfortunately no way to easily reproduce pieces.
More photos, I think I probably need a closeup from a more overhead view on the hood vents to better show how they look in person. I thought the 360 video was the best way to get an idea of how it all looked, but maybe not.
Those rear decals actually ended up being a bit smaller. The top profile is basically dictated by that crease in the body, and originally I wanted to then bring the inside part down lower and have sort of a double angle like the tail lights on the Evija, but it didn't look right because of that...
Thanks, I posted on the facebook group as well and have been getting a very negative reaction. Quite surprising as everyone I had shown the car before and after really liked it. Maybe they were just being nice. I've done a good bit of design work in my life so I supposedly have good taste...
Ended up looking pretty much like the mockups I had posted over a year ago. The rear vent profiles are a little different. Also had a red pinstripe added around the bottom of the back and sides and switched out the stock yellow emblems for black. Now just need to get through the break-in miles.
I also have the auto parking brake release issue. Didn't realize that was actually an issue until I read it here though. I'll try the system reset. edit: reset didn't change anything for me
Yeah, mine has been doing it too although it doesn't happen very often. I read on the facebook group that it's a known issue and they are working on a fix so just waiting. I had sent a picture of the warning to the dealer just in case they needed proof before doing a fix. The blinkers work, so...
Yes, you are correct. By the definitions on that chart, I'm trying to explain that the I4 has "low-end" or "boost threshold" turbo lag, but does not have noticeable "high-end" or "transient" turbo lag.
It's important to understand the difference between turbo lag and the effect of boost threshold. As I previously explained, because of the boost threshold, a turbo engine makes relatively poor power at very low rpm because it doesn't have positive boost yet. It's essentially just a naturally...
The 5-60 test is a good way to find out how fast a car will be when pulling from idle speed, like in an impromptu drag race where you aren’t using launch control or a clutch drop. Electric cars and large displacement engines are good at this because they still make good power at very low rpm...
Could do something like this leaving just the front of the center section body color. That would leave a clean line between the blacked out sections and the body color across the bottom.
I just tried 4 quick downshift pulls and it worked. The pulls seem to be buffered and then the gear number on the display updates as it reaches each new gear. I'm assuming you could probably do more, but I didn't try. I've been just double tapping up and down on the gear lever for the...
Just notice I can pull the interior trim around the rear window out a few inches at the top on both sides. Photo shows the area I am takling about. Just wondering if that is normal.
Ceramic pads should give you less rotor wear than a semi-metallic. Brake dust comes from rotor wear as well. There is just less friction between the pad and rotor with the ceramic pads. For street driving, I think the initial bite of the current pads is too high so I'd definitely like to try...
Yeah, that was one of the ones I tried. The hydroflask I mentioned sits at the same height, but holds 6 more ounces so you might like that. I'd give a slight edge to the yeti lids though. The magslider is nice. The hydroflask lid is just a basic plastic slider.
I just ordered a few different mugs to try as nothing I had fit. The 16oz hydro flask worked the best for a decent size but not taking up much room. Fit all the way down in both cup holders and doesn't stick up very much. I have the i4 so less important for me, but still nice to not have to...
Just search "(Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mclaren) water gets into engine when washing/in rain" and you'll see it's a pretty universal thing for mid engine cars
I was curious to finally get to see the Lotus design in person and it's fairly elegant compared to most mid engine compartment venting...
I like the Merrell Vapor Glove for driving. I like barefoot style shoes in general though, for everyday wear and then you don't have to put on different shoes just to go drive. Similar to driving shoes, but have a wider toe box. I find most driving shoes to be too pointy and squish my toes...
Going to be doing vinyl in those areas and was trying to compare the feasibility of removing the vents vs trying to just tuck in around the edges. Thanks.
I've been meaning to ask about this. I recently picked up my US spec I4 and the parking brake does not seem to deactivate automatically when driving off, although it states in the manual that it should. Instead I get a warning message to manually deactivate the parking brake. Are other US...
