As I said, I'll be the first to admit the route isn't particularly good. I'm not trying to defend it, I'm simply providing a different perspective and an answer on why certain decisions have been made.
As for your other point about the moors, simply put - mileage. A route was thrown around...
Don't ask me how I know this... 👀
The simple location of the dealership unfortunately massively limits the routes that can be used, as there are very few 'good' roads around Bradford that are accessible within the mileage and time constraints put down by Lotus themselves. They told dealerships...
Definitely not a permanent media staff member there... definitely not :censored:
I've heard they do private shoots at a discount for Emira owners too ;)
I'm like a little kid waiting for everyone to wake up on Christmas! I'm so excited for the car(s) to arrive - I'm hoping that I'll be able to get it out for some photos, but if these trackers are that strict than that might not be an option
Lotus themselves haven't chosen the route - we (dealers) were just told to propose a suitable test route for them to approve - I suspect it's something to do with the trackers, but that's just my thoughts, no idea how true that is. Sadly my particular dealership has no exciting roads within a...
No comment :censored:
I will say though that the time constraints are most likely down to the sheer volume of test drives expected - we're expecting to be inundated with constant test drives almost non-stop following our demo's arrival, so there's only so much time we can offer to ensure...
No problem!
I totally get that, though for our dealership specifically it really is a challenge to find good roads to drive any Lotus within a reasonable distance - if they could stretch to an hour's test drive then I could easily put together a really fun route with some incredible roads...
It would seem that way, yes. I'm not part of the sales team but have been asked to help cover test drives if need be (no complaints here!)
We do get a lot of our customers come from hours away who aren't familiar with the area at all (we're in a pretty urban location, it takes a good half hour...
Let me rephrase that slightly - that's our proposed route ;) it has to be sent off and approved by Lotus first! We haven't got a huge amount of proper Lotus roads within a short test drive distance so we're hoping to get a bit further out!
I'll post the details of ours when they arrive.. the sales team are fed up of me pestering them I think! We've still got no clue on specs for ours, we've got our test route sorted out though, should be about a 45 min loop :)
Still no idea if I'm actually allowed to say which dealership I'm...
It's interesting - I work at a Lotus dealer, and the sales team received a bulletin with copies of the emails that went out to customers - there was no mention of September dates in that email, only October, November (maybe Dec too I can't remember) & 2023
I must say I'm surprised at the September emails - we received a bulletin email at work including the variations of emails being sent to customers (I.e. October, November & 2023). Was no mention of September ones at all 🤔
And sadly for me, no mention of any demonstrator arrivals either...
I'd better not comment on the communication side of things :ROFLMAO: but yes it's certainly been... interesting. I really feel for those of you who've been waiting years. Hopefully it's at least some comfort that all the reviews I've seen so far suggest it'll be worth the wait!
@AudR8 all sales...
I'd imagine requests were done before I started here (I joined in February) - supposedly at one point we had a vague idea of demo colour, but the impression I got today when I asked was that it was not communicated effectively to us and it's essentially fallen off the radar, so it's just a wait...
Thanks for all the welcomes!
@emiraspain I'm 22 so I suppose you're not wrong there! I'll keep dreaming, who knows!
@TomE sadly no information on that front, no one in sales has any idea on spec. Every time I've asked it's the same answer; all we know is we have a car coming... at some point...
Hi!
I'm A. I work as a photographer for a UK Lotus dealer (don't really want to say too much about which one right now, not entirely sure how much I'm allowed to say!). I deal with their social media as well as website stock photos etc. My job is essentially taking Lotuses out to nice places...
