I’d love to hand the keys back to Lotus and get back what I paid for but I took delivery back in April so I doubt UK consumer protection law would kick in. Plus, how do I even reject the car if LCS don’t even reply to emails?
Just an update: the dealer called me two weeks ago (a week after I dropped the Emira off to get fixed), and they said the car has to be effectively taken apart so that the ENTIRE loom can be refitted. They said it would be at least 3 weeks because the loom hasn’t been sent to them yet and it...
Enough is enough, I’m selling the car after just 2,500 miles. After being away on a trip I went for a drive last week and the aircon failed (again) but this time the fans didn’t even turn on.
I’ve dropped the car around to the dealer to fix it and on the way there was torrential rain so having...
Drove the car for the first time in two weeks following heavy rain, it was a warm sunny day.
Alas! The aircon and the fans refused to work. I mean, ZERO fans working no matter what setting, fan speed or if auto was selected. Restarted the car from cold and same thing happened.
So I suspect the...
Yes it’s shite, but I didn’t buy the car to listen to music. Wireless CarPlay connects 50% of the time. It’s Lotus, not Apple. Because it connects flawlessly on my Macan every single time.
No regrets here; I waited two years for the car and it truly feels special to drive and gets ridiculous amounts of attention both stationary and on the road.
I was driving with my grandson in track mode and making lots of noise, farts and pops - a guy in a convertible R8 pulled into the next...
Well after 1600 miles in the Emira I’m sadly disappointed in the seats. Coming from a 992 911 Carrera 4S with 18-way adjustable seats, the Emira seats pale in comparison and I generally feel I am sitting on them rather than in them. My 2007 LE Evora had superb Recaros and I never ever felt aware...
Ok overheating, aircon, ABS/ESC and tracker issues all resolved.
Aircon, ABS/ESC and overheating turned out to be a water corrosion in the wiring loom junction box u der the bonnet, I have a temp fix by the dealer and awaiting new parts from Lotus.
Scorpion tracker issue was resolved by...
My aircon and engine overheating failures are now resolved. It turned out to be water ingress corroding the wiring loom junction box at three terminals which controlled all the cooling aspects of the car including aircon. The dealer has Jerry-rigged a solution with paste and tape until Lotus HQ...
Yep, I had the water-into-wiring-loom issue too. The junction box got corroded at three points and it basically affected my engine cooling (got to 119c!!), engine coolant warnings, air conditioning (stopped working) and random ESC/ABS failure messages.
The Lotus dealer Jerry-rigged a fix (clean...
Update: driving from Le Mans to Caen today in 29c heat the air conditioning decided to stop working….. sigh … it was like a blast furnace inside the car with windows open.
Off to the Lotus dealer tomorrow and I’ll throw the keys at them and pick it back up when it’s fixed.
My two Evoras never...
Forgot to mention I was not given the owners manual on delivery, but it doesn’t matter because even the full PDF version of it is possibly the worst ever owner’s manual ever written!
Ok so I believe I am the first automatic (or IPS if you will) delivery in the UK.
The car drives brilliantly but after a trip to Le Mans here are the issues I have encountered:
- Overheating when driving slowly or in traffic and using Sport or Track mode. Temps go to 115c and I get warnings...
Magma Red all the way, the colour is deep and not too “look at me I’m a Ferrari!”.
My car gets ridiculous amounts of attention and I’d much rather have the metallic finish any day.
Oh dear, manual transmission bias again …. FWIW 95% of all Porsches sold are autos, so please don’t be stuck in the 1970’s. I do wonder why taxis in the UK and EU are all mostly manual (as opposed to autos in the US, Asia and AU/NZ), when an auto box is more fuel efficient and much less taxing...
I deposited on reveal day which I recall being July 6th 2021. I then paid the full deposit about 6 months later from memory.
I’ve been invited for a test drive but since they only have manuals on offer I’ll pass, since I’ve no interest in driving a manual these days. (3, 2, 1 …. manual biased...
Hello all, new to these forums, mainly came here looking for news about my Emira order since LCC keep changing their delivery goalposts. I’m looking forward to eventually getting my car, and having owned two Evoras I’m sure it will be every bit as amazing as those two were.
Hi all. First post here. Long time Lotus driver, I had a 2009 Evora LE in Australia and a 2012 Evora here in the UK.
I deposited on reveal day 6 July 2021 and was promised a May 2022 delivery which has now slipped to a “March 2023 production” timeframe. Oh well … no point getting upset about it...
