Thought I should post an update. Lotus have no interest in sorting out or even acknowledging the problems. Over 20 times my wife has tried to contact them which is really poor considering she collected it from the factory. However, she contacted Rybrook Solihull/Blythe Valley and they agreed...
This is the post we'd hoped wouldn't be needed. We collected the car from the factory last Friday and with the exception of the known wiper problem we loved the first 400 miles. Then the sun came out and it was apparent the air conditioning simply doesn't work, not even slightly. After...
Good to hear that it can work well. You would think it would use the latest tried and tested control system from Volvo which from my experience is completely reliable.
Unfortunately I've had this problem in both cars I've test driven. One of them almost became undrivable from misting up after getting in the car during heavy rain. One of the dealers explained that for some reason turning demist on actually directs air away from the windscreen! He advised...
I know I'm like a stuck record (for those that remember such a thing) but further to my comments about the seat belt in the demonstrator, I've looked at the photos of the Emira on Collecting Cars. The upper mount bolt has again been installed without great care, the cover is also missing (on...
I agree about the steering wheel. Small inputs are fine but I found it awkward to use for manoeuvring around car parks and tight bends. It feels oddly low when upside down and makes it difficult to go from lock to lock. A strange choice for a Lotus.
I completely agree that we need to keep our faith but Lotus do need to up their communications to regain confidence. A couple of youtubers being given access does not make a communication strategy. I mentioned the quality of fitment of the seat belts in a demonstrator in one of the other...
Yes, two different locations unfortunately. I was pleased to have driven it in heavy rain simply to know it's fine. They had a mix of road types but the big town locations meant endless low speed limits, pedestrians and generally built up areas making it difficult to push. It's not really the...
I’ve been lucky enough to drive a sport and touring suspension Emira. They were both on Goodyears which is the only sensible choice for demonstrators being abused during the British winter.
On arrival the shape really does impress, although I find the wheels comically big for the size of car...
