Have just bought a used earlier model seasucker rack off ebay so we shall see.
Next question is whether best to stick it on the roof or all 4 suckers on the tailgate glass so that the skis are sat on the tailgate (reminds me of that James Bond Esprit moment) .... the tailgate glass gets pretty...
Anyone comsidered a preventative appoach to this? My car is an early one - Delivery December 2022 and used as a daily drive and I do not have any paint blisters (tempts fate). My car is Hethel Yellow. As I would rather not have my car re-painted if the blisters do arise would a solution be to...
Skis on Emira?
So the Emira takes on Alps Taxi duties from the 911 this year and I need to figure out the best way to carry up to 3 pairs of skis on it, as securelyas possible in order to 'make progress' through the night on the autoroutes.
Any suggestions?
Being a pretty much daily driver I drove mine throughout winter last year (UK and France) on Sport suspension and Cup2s - which was interesting.
Will be continuing through this winter, my winter tyres (Pirelli Sottozero) went on about a month ago and have transformed the car in the wet, much...
So having spent nearly two years on my Cup2s and surviving (my Emira is my daily driver so out in all weathers) the biblical rain in UK today has persuaded me to put my Winter tyres on early.
When I sold my 911 earlier in the year I was pleasantly surprised to find the tyre dimensions exactly...
I've gone full circle and am now really chuffed with mine. I am now able to crank mine up to pretty much full volume with a lovely distortion free sound. I have progessively been reducing the bass on the equalizer and now it is almost all the way down, with treble 3/4 up and mid range 1/2 up...
sorry but I couldn't live with that sub between the seats - spoils the interior IMHO
Something odd has happened. In the time since I posted before about my issues, the sound has got better and better and better, Like REALLY good. I've not touched it! I didn;t do a reset. I'm still using the...
I am in contact with KEF and I will try to get them to get involved. So far they routed me back to Lotus but I also have a good contact at Lotus who is keen to get to the bottom of the problem and I can't imagine KEF themselves would be happy that we are not happy so it shouldn't be a no brainer...
Just a little update on this - Lotus had agreed to replace my sub as 'faulty' but playing around with it a bit more oddly it seems to sound much better the higher the volume goes which tends to suggest the vibrations at lower volume being a factor. I've also noticed it can sound really good on...
Thanks am in Hants but the Emira is my daily driver and I am often all around the UK on business so could defintely get your way at some point. What is your gut feel as to the problem I have with the sub if it is not the vibration at low volume?
My dealer has agreed to get another sub in and...
now that is interesting as my dealer says the brakes/brake set up have never changed throughout production but what you say reinforces my impression that they definitely have!
I have asked them now to drive the two cars (mine and the demo) back to back and give me their thoughts :-)
Couldn't see a specific forum for this one so if it is not appropriate in here then please move it.
I have an early car (late 2022) and a week or so back it went in for some minor work and I was lent a brand new FE V6 manual (ostensibly the same) but the brakes were WAY more sensitive in the...
Update on mine - there was no water in the sub. It also seems to be 'working'. I have noticed that if you crank the volume up it actually sounds not too bad and the issue seems to be at low volume which means I am wondering whether it is the vibration issue that has been mentioned previously in...
Well interesting news - I decided to also contact KEF and have had a very swift reply from them to say that the spec never changed across the Emira production so this probably dispels the myth about there being two levels of power in the system instal?
My Lotus guys hopefully having a good look...
My speakers are definitely run in - I have 6,000 miles on and use the sounds a lot. They definitely improved with use but still sound nothing like this latest demo / loan car.
Very interesting KJW..!! Mine is a daily drive and gets used a lot in the rain - even the really heavy stuff we have...
Thanks - yeah I have raised this with Lotus today to see if they can confirm any differential in fitments!
If I do have one of the earlier low powered ones was it just the amp that is different?
I have an early delivered car (December 22 Factory delivery) and mine has just gone in today to dealer for some minor work but jumping into their brand new demo and using the same music source the KEF in their demo sounds WAY better. One of the Lotus guys jumped in the car and we moved from car...
Sorry to hear of your problems, I am 1300 miles in from a Hethel pickup on 22nd December and so far pretty OK really. I would be majorly pi**ed off in your position though.
I'm new to the forum and my initial impressions are that there are a few proper bell*nds in here who seem to be...
Maybe that pulsating is the fact that you can feel the road through the steering wheel as opposed to being removed and isolated from it in 99percent of new cars out there. A reason to be cheerful I would have thought..????
