Can someone explain to me the significance of keeping the car in Tour mode during the break-in period versus Sport mode with a 6sp manual Emira? If this has to do with keeping RPM under 4000, that can easily be controlled with the manual.
Thanks for the feedback. Been debating if I should wait to hit 1,000 miles before doing 3rd cat delete. Just curious, are you leaving the car in Tour mode during break-in period or Sport/Track?
I had a local shop quote me $500, but then I read on one of the forums that if you take the cover off, Lotus may void the warranty. So I didn’t want to take any chances (although my dealer said it would not void the warranty) and had them do it for $997 prior to delivery and had them add it to...
I would have liked to, but I am trying to stick to the break-in rules as much as I can = torture. Took back roads home to vary speed and shift 500 times. Lol
Finally picked up my car from Naples Friday! Not too many pictures of Vivid Red w/Black pack, so figured I’s share a picture. Also had engine cover painted to match car color. Better visible through the tinted rear window. 180 mile trouble free trip home. PPF and ceramic next.
As this is a weekend toy for me, it will take me months to cover 1,000 miles. a) 1,000 miles is a lot. Most modern cars require no or 500mi break-in. b) I don’t mind the <4,000rpm, but not to hear the beautiful exhaust tone of Sport for a few months is painful. Just trying to understand why b)...
Any idea what the restriction to Tour mode is all about given that it is easy to control the rpm’s with a 6sp? Besides increasing idle by 200 rpm’s, how would Sport mode affect the break-in period?
It’s crazy, they had months to prepare but didn’t do anything. Now they have to install the software updates and send them for paint correction. Seems to me they could have done that over that past 3 months as cars were sitting in their parking lot. They could have also taken orders for PPF or...
Originally we were told there'd be 700 First Editions for North America. Then in 2023 a second batch of 600 (called First Edition 2.0s) were announced for North America. All 1,300 are V6. No numbers on i4 and no numbers on base V6. So, unless there was another announcement I missed, I think this...
Must be Naples. They have only released 40 out of 120 on their lot and more on the way At this rate. it will take me another months to get delivery of my car. My sales guy did tell me that they are sending all cars to a local shop for paint correction before releasing them. You also have the...
Not quite. You have to give them first right of refusal to purchase at the price they sold it to you for. If you don't give them first right of refusal, you owe them $10K penalty.
What happens if you want to put PPF on the car? You shouldn't put ceramic on before PPF as it will not adhere as well. In addition, what ceramic product did they use and did they perform the necessary paint correction before installing the ceramic. That's BS.
Question: I placed my pre-order for a FE V2 in March 23 and my final order in October 23, at which time I received my Submission ID from Lotus. At what point can I expect to obtain a VIN #? My dealer (Naples) is not very responsive nor provides any updates.
I think that this car is so far off from what you ordered (presumably your ideal spec) that you should probably wait. I like the a zinc color but it is a unique taste (My order is Vivid Red as well). Than there is manual versus auto. There must be a distinct reason why you chose an auto trans in...
