In fact even lotus calling it an “access panel” is deceitful. It’s a normal piece of car trim that we see all over the place. It is not designed to be accessible or to be removed more than once or twice.
Hey Dave, once you’ve done it, it makes total sense. But for someone who hasn’t even looked behind their seat, it’s still totally unclear. I’ve wired subwoofers and dash cams and replaced speakers in various cars. The images on this forum and in the manual are borderline worthless. Just my...
My loop was also black. And is hidden deep up inside and toward the seatbelt. If I could have moved my seat forward I could have accessed it better, but of course you can’t move the seat forward without power! In addition because it was in my garage, I could only open the door about 30 degrees...
Oh lord never mind I found it. Looks like the dealer already bent up the attachments of the panel. It’s in an absurd location so I understand why nobody could get decent pictures…
Guys I have browsed the threads I could find. Every image from the manual posted or from someone’s car is like zoomed in on a microscope. Where the HELL is this “access panel”?! Can someone take a zoomed out picture that shows like, ANY OTHER PART OF THE CAR?! Please help!!!! Car is dead from...
Dr. Colorchip has seneca blue for the Lotus. Don't know about other colors. Any shop worth their salt can color match any paint. I had it done on my solar orange audi, miami blue porsche, etc. at a third party shop a couple of times. And yea you can generally get an entire panel or a hood...
Okay this makes a lot of sense. The amount of debris in general thrown up from the various vents (especially noticeable with all the broken fall leaves these days) definitely seems like something they may have tried to reduce. Thanks all for the info
The most odd part of it is that it doesn’t appear to be sealing or protecting anything. It is not firmly pressed against the plastic behind it (at least not on my car) and if it’s meant to keep out water that makes no sense because there are vents right there. But, maybe it’s close enough to the...
This long piece of foam trim (see attached image) entirely under the back of the hood is coming loose on one side and is very easy to pull off on both sides. Is this something that should have been removed before delivery or is there really an intentional cheap crappy foam strip under the hood...
