I think to charge the dash cam battery you have to have the ignition on, or you wire the dash cam battery directly to the normal car battery, but that's going to defeat the point
I've certainly not worked out a way to have it charge the dash cam battery while on a tender
So I don't have homelink, and the little remote they give you is a faff to play with when driving. Had to find a way to make it easier to press buttons 1 and 2, but definitely not 3...
A few evenings and many attempts at the 3d printer later, I've got a new remote housing that clicks into place...
I did mention to LCC how wasteful this is, no acknowledgement of it, or really most of my email to them.
I find the "care" part is particularly lacking in my communication with them.
Hey all,
Just a frustrating story for you all today.
I was travelling recently in my Emira, with my partner driving on the German autobahns.
Unfortunately, during some roadworks they got a little too close to a bollard marking the temporary lanes and boom, the wing mirror is smashed into the...
Has anyone installed this themselves? How hard is it? Did you need to lift the car to do so? Is it hard to get to the valve actuator once the diffuser is off?
Took me ages to get mine on and off, and then when the tracker guy came to fit the tracker he needed it off as well and similar swearing was heard 😂
No idea why it's so hard, but I figured mine was mainly the carpet on both panels causing issues
Yeah I was hoping for a home polish style solution, since the cost for a new one is pretty low, I wouldn't expect it worth it to take it to a shop.
Googling anodised aluminium polish brings up autosol but I've never heard of or used it before, worth a shot maybe
So I actually have 2, one on the car, and one that was on the car but was swapped because it was scratched before I collected it.
The one on the car is a lot lighter, but still noticeable.
Kind of hoping there's an easy way to restore the light scratches without having to replace the knob...
So, as is inevitable, someone has worn a ring while driving my car and scratched my gear knob.
As it's anodised, I have no idea what can be done to remove the scratch.
Anyone used anything to remove scratches from one of these? Can it be done or am I stuck with it?
In the UK a full set of the OEM diamond cut wheels is a little shy of £6k fitted. So I find the figure hard to believe, unless there's a lot of additional tax being added in somewhere!
If you find a decent wheel refurb/customs place they should be able to chemically strip the wheels, then repaint them in the style of the DCs and finally do the DC on top.
It would effectively be the same process for them as refurbing a kerbed set of the DCs
No, it was fitted by a third party after delivery. I've been having to press start 2/3 times since I got the tracker, then the latest software update made it really bad.
The tracker company sent an engineer who concluded the tracker was in the wrong place, moved it, and I've gone back to the...
Sounds similar to an issue I've been having. Originally my tracker/immobiliser was fitted in an "incorrect" location so I was having real difficulty getting the car to start, would take many presses and a good few minutes to get the car started. That got moved and the situation improved, but it...
Does your car have an aftermarket tracker/immobiliser fitted?
Is the car turning the starter motor and not starting, or is the starter motor not even kicking in?
Just noted some blistering on the top lip of my passenger door. What's the process here? Report to my nearest dealer and they'll put a new door on? What about ceramic coating?
Does anyone know if there are any coding apps for the Emira? Have used things like bimmercode on the BMW's before that allow you to tweak settings (eg exhaust flaps), would be cool to have that for the lotus
That does sound like my issue, I'm not sure what the whirr is, but, it's not the starter motor, sounds almost like it's inside the cabin. Do you get any other warnings with yours? Like Andrew is getting?
For those with the starting issue, is it the case that you push the starter button, then the car kind of whirs a bit and then times out, but the starter never kicks in? Is there a good workaround?
I've been having an issue recently with mine but have been having issues with my immobiliser...
The mirrors and rear glass were both covered in condensation, a film if water over the mirrors meant that I couldn't actually see anything in them.
I turned the engine on, switched the heated screen/mirrors on and waited. You could see a slight clearing of the mirrors at the edges, and around...
Manual says the mirrors are heated as you'd expect based on any other modern car, and they did appear to start that misting you get with heated mirrors, it just seems they were pathetic in doing so
Hey everyone, so I started my Emira up this morning, condensation covering both mirrors and rear windscreen.
Turned on the heated rear windscreen and waited, and waited, and waited. But nothing really seemed to happen and eventually the heater timed out and turned itself off.
It took long...
The app used to be awful with my old camera dr750s in the old car, but, they've improved the app and with my dr770x in the Emira, it works a lot better than it used to, kudos to them for actually improving it
I've never had any warnings or anything on mine, but now, after the updates recently, same thing, SOS warning pretty much every time I start the car.
And yes, even after doing 180 miles in it on Sunday it did it yesterday, so maybe not a charge issue 😔
Has anyone seen this since having software updates?
Had the car 2 months now, never had any error messages come up before. Took it to the dealer last week for some recalls, they did that and updated software on 4 different systems at the same time.
Since then, I've had the SOS message every...
