I had my loom replaced as well. Similar timescale. It appears to have resolved the electrical gremlins I am told the car exhibited (the dealership picked up on them before handover).
Lotus have expedited the process by taking the ABS module off the production line to send to Rybrook. Hopefully sorted in 7-10 days. By bypassing LCC, the wheels have turned at a much quicker rate and I can see light at the end of the tunnel.
I agree that it seems likely that the electronic...
An update of sorts from me - despite several calls to Customer Services over the past fortnight, there's still no listing within the Lotus parts catalogue for the ABS module (HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT ASM-ESC part number 8892895979) and despite various assurances, no one from Lotus Customer...
Popped into Rybrook service centre to see my Emira sandwiched between a Rolls Royce and a Mclaren. Good news is the wiring loom has been installed but subsequent testing has revealed the ABS module needs replacing and is now on back order. However, had a good chat with Andrew at Rybrook and...
I know what you mean but (a) the fact Lotus were initially retraining seamstresses to bolt together engines doesn't exactly inspire confidence; and (b) Rybrook BIrmingham (i.e. Lotus Birmingham) are also a McLaren dealership and so I'd hope their service team are pretty skilled. Let's hope my...
Not yet. I am popping over next week to see the car (and now extensive the job is). Nearly £5k on ppf so rejecting it is problematic without lotus picking up the cost of ppf on its replacement.
I've deliberately kept off the board for a few weeks as the anticlimax of delivery has gotten to me. My emira was due for collection from Lotus Birmingham in April and Lotus Birmingham kindly liaised with Elite Car Detailing to have the car fully PPFed during the week prior to handover to me at...
I had the same concern but ppf didn't appear to be an issue with the insurers I contacted - the lack of a tracker was more of an issue (but ultimately Admiral provided a low premium, pff noted on the policy (but the cost of non-OEM mods is not covered i.e. I'd have to pay for replacement ppf on...
My S2000 was the guinea pig for Nitron's development of the set up for the S2000 (I still have some pretty graphs somewhere on the hard drive relating to the benchmarking of the OEM shocks). Guy kindly upgraded my order FOC to what is now labelled the R3 spec (3-way adjustable with remote...
Snap.
By way of comparison, Classicline were circa £1,085 but dependent upon fitting tracker. Adrian Flux was ~£1,800 and Manning were a little cheaper.
I didn't add it as an option as it felt like overkill for my situation and the annual subscription would grate. The good news is Admiral have come through with approx £875 quote without a tracker requirement. 3000 miles per annum including 1000 business miles. Includes wife on the policy.
EDIT...
The owner is on here - it's me! Turns out Rybrook had passed my car over to Elite last week (before I had even received the invoice from Lotus for the balance payment) who were already working on it when I visited - none of us looking at the car realised that it was mine (numberplates weren't...
Just spoken to Classicline and their insurers have required a Cat 5 tracker on the car. Waiting for Manning to come back to me. An unwelcome surprise and something I'll have to sort out quickly as my Emira is due to be handed over within a week (currently at Elite Detailing). Plenty of more...
Can I ask how much the LOTUS letters (and template) cost? Elite Detailing want to use replacements letters when ppf is applied and the old letters removed - the template will make life easier.
I have seen a magma red receiving the ppf prep work this morning at Elite Detailing - so glad I made the same colour choice as it looks fantastic. Same DC wheels and lower BP only choices as myself - is the owner on here?
I suspect it is the additional cost of replacement. However, there has been a big debate about it.

My Emira is due at Rybrook Birmingham for collection of Friday but I have asked for it to go to Elite for full ppf (some of the tales of Emira owners made up my mind!) so I will collect the following Friday. I let my insurance on my S2000 expire in August 2021 (shortly after I sold it) so I will...
Yep, that's about it, Ade. I also take a massive pinch of salt re exhaust gains - I've walked this path with my S2000 and ended up importing a single exit exhaust for my S2000 - asymetrical but at least there was a handy weight loss. I think any power gains without a remap (which isn't...
Just copied across some new music to the usb stick and checked it for format - exFAT 64GB usb stick. I wonder whether the Emira prefers FAT32?.... (or perhaps it will turn out to be a random issue which doesn't reappear)
I'm sorry to read this and it has made my mind up - I'll invest in the ppf. It reminds me of my silver S2000 which I had resprayed 5-6 years ago. The new (water-based?) paint seemed to pick up small stone chips so easily - it really wound me up when I washed the front bumper, in particular.
I've spoken to Gurcharn @ Elite Detailing and he was honest about the benefits of ceramic wheel coating (takes the most abuse and so ceramic coating life is much shorter than elsewhere on the car - I'm going to pass on that) and I'm leaning towards the complete PPF package (£3,850 plus VAT).
@Daz Is that Depth of Shine? I've bookmarked DOS website some weeks ago and so you or someone else must have recommended DOS on the forum somewhere! I've dropped an email to DOS and asked for a quote. Unless there are any other personal recommendations for nearby installers to Solihull (there...
Ade (and equally any other Emira owners) , can you clarify where the areas prone to chips are? I appreciate the front bumper, bonnet and sills are particularly at risk. However, if I go down the partial ppf route (pared back to keep cost as low as possible) I am keen to ensure that I don't...
Just received my checkout email and so under pressure to arrive at a decision regarding ppf. Is the above correct, in that the corrective machine polish is only for option 2?
Hi Ade, can you show PPF edges and explain the extent to which panel edges have been wrapped around? I spent another hour last night, trying to balance pros and cons of PPF.
I still have concerns re cost, edges lifting and dirt getting underneath, need to replace pieces anyway if substantial...
I feel stressed just reading the garage door width restrictions you guys are facing! My garage is just a new build double garage but I had the central pillar between the two garage doors removed and RSJ fitted so that I could have a single, double width garage door installed. That way the car...
I feel like I'm making a sequel of single white female called magma red emira....I also have a ctek awaiting new duties - M6 eyelets (IIRC from another thread) so £6.99 off ebay?
Very interesting info - I have a similar spec Magma on order (production next month, in theory) and I was considering PPF on the front end, too. I don't have experience of PPF and so I've been in research mode - is the PPF wrapped around the panels or are the edges visible?
As a Linux user, I steer clear of NTFS unless I am only using the device for Windows. Still have nightmares trying to mount reliably an NTFS drive for Linux use.
I don't have the USB stick at hand but it sits in my wife's X1 and is read without any issues. Less than 16GB of mp3 files, from memory.
