If It’s open when you shut down, it should stay open
Or you can open it again before starting the car. Single press of the button without break pedal to fire up the electronics
Lots of us apparently are getting a free car. I received messages asking me to confirm my configuration for a car I unknowingly reserved in December 22 !!!
Incompetency at Lotus has no bounds
I would be keen to test drive an i4 version to see how it compares with my V6 Auto. I have no issues whatsoever with the way the V6 Auto box works, in full auto mode it changes gears very quickly, in paddle shift mode it’s still pretty quick
It’s odd that lotus have set it the I4 gearbox up...
When you put it in sport or track mode, the valves are opened up slightly, so you get a bit more noise out of the exhaust from the beginning. But they don’t open fully until about 4000 revs.
With this remote control kit, you can have the valves open in any mode, so you can drive in tour...
That’s very poor, I don’t blame you avoiding using the car, especially if there’s predicted heavy downpour
In the few times I had a bit of rain and I used the wipers manually, they seemed to be okay, so there was no real danger.
But my understanding is that if you made the mistake of putting...
I think that unless you proactively contact a dealer, they may just wait until the first annual service to do it. But I think some of the updates they needed to do are quite serious in terms of safety. Not going to get into them here because they may only affect certain cars.
They only know about me and my car because I had a steering pump failure when I picked it up from the factory, and I ended up at Stratton motors on the third day of ownership replacing the pump
My wiper problem has been fixed by my lotus service centre. There were a few things that Lotus needed to do to the car as part of a service campaign.
I never drove the car on auto wipers before, but I drove a couple of days ago with it raining quite heavily and it adjusted fine in auto mode
You should definitely feel a large difference in power delivery between tour and Sport/Track. It’s much more responsive even up to 4,000
Dovresti sicuramente sentire una grande differenza nell'erogazione di potenza tra Tour e Sport/Track. È molto più reattivo anche fino a 4.000
I’m not sure how to do that, doesn’t appear to be an easy way to download and save a Facebook posted video
@TomE , Tom, do you know how to link the lotus owners group video here?
Posted by Todd Rosenthal,
There’s a video filmed from inside the i4 going up the hill, it’s on the Lotus Emira owners group page (Facebook)
Recorded by someone from Lotus, Naples. It actually doesn’t sound too bad from within the car.
The car is having a campaign service done today, I will be picking it up Monday after my trip to Goodwood.
I may give the car another run using the paddle shift to see if it really does improve it. I suspect when run in a bit longer, it could get down to 4.3. It’s more me being curious...
Agree, If you are in the right revs range when you put your foot down it really can go. I used launch control for my run today and even in track mode there was no noticeable wheel spin at all, phenomenal grip.
Talking of 0-60’s, I finally tried one today in my Auto. Managed 4.45s in full auto mode. I don’t think using the paddles would be quicker. Timed using a RaceBox pro. I am sure it could be done a little quicker with some practice, unlikely to get much below 4.35s. A little quicker than...
Sorry to hear this
I’m sure it is only a few cars that have been very unlucky. It would be very interesting to find out if these were vehicles that were left outside during the winter weather.
It really is a shame, my car was handed over with faulty power steering and I was without it for...
I wasn’t really looking for it to be honest, it certainly wasn’t obvious to me when I was looking at it from the front. So if it was there, it was well hidden behind the license plate.
I followed an I4 for a few miles yesterday, tried to get the guy to put his foot down to see if it could pull away from my V6 but the guy let me pass him and gave me a smile.
It was a bit of a hybrid, it had lotus NYO on the engine cover but only Lotus lettering on the back of the car...
When my car was having the steering pump changed, the service centre mentioned there was a seat belt recall affecting certain Vin numbers, they may be handling it at annual service time. My car wasn’t affected but initially it was showing up as needing it, but a follow up call to Hethel...
I think flooring it will likely end up with significant wheel spin, I have pulled out of a junction and accidentally spun the wheels
0 to 60 numbers are hard to replicate, but should give a good indication of general pulling power, so people expect the car to perform a certain way based on...
Now that it’s working ok, yes
But it could be a little quicker. The paddle shift is a bit laggy but fine for road use. Noticeably slower than a DCG
It still doesn’t sit very well with me that they falsely advertised performance numbers and then updated them soon after the first tranche of UK...
I wonder if he is the guy who told the website guys to hold off updating the true performance figures for the V6 Auto until they had collected payment from the first 50 odd UK customers
