Yeah, I researched on all of that, the same in the UK.
It was too scary and unpalatable a proposition overall.
Now looking at 458/488 Spider as I want to get back into Ferrari ownership.
Not cheap to run but overall less surprises than a McLaren.
AH, have been looking at 600LTs for ages. The rawness appeals to me and I believe it is the best McLaren below 1 mil actually. Love the noise with the vertical exhausts.
I have recently decided against it as the scary tales of things going wrong spooked me out.
Just got the originals on still.
Goodyear F1.
I don't care about the seasons. Just want the best tyres for grip/roadholding.
Not worried about temperatures either.
Common sense dictates that I get the Cup 2 tyres designed for the car.
Hi all.
Not been on the forums for ages. My Emira is my daily driver and still loving it and amazed at how capable it is.
I have reached 10,000 miles, it is winter and the car is sliding all over the place.
I can't bring myself to check the wear but I am assuming I am almost at slicks, which I...
My brakes went to mush at Donnington - a track with long straights but were 100% brilliant at Castle Coombe which is bendy in nature.
A McLaren and Lotus test driver said it was a step on from all other Lotus and only the LT McLarens were as good. I happen to believe it as I was overtaking...
Well, an ex Mclaren and current Lotus test driver I met said it was clear step above an exige, evira and most Mclarens.
Micht have meant in terms of ease of going fast and handling for beginners.
The setup is lacking in power but overall I am now enjoying it enough to leave it alone.
It got better from the off after a number of months seemingly to bed in.
My Emira got better with every drive over the last 14 months. I would say it has now peaked and it is utterly terrific.
Indeed, I cannot believe it ever gets any negativism and that people are not buying them in their drives compared to other cars. The general market does not help but, wow, the...
It still amazes me how GREAT the Emira performance is.
This is a very fast car. I travel a lot with 812 Comps, Speciales, Performantes.
Never been close to being left behind on the road and it is a beast on the track too.
I don't get all this hunt for an extra 0.2s 0-62MPH or 400 more revs...
That.
But not carbon, Has to match the rest of the car.
Also, need to know is that a small mudflap will actually do the job.
Might need more normal size mudflaps as seen on my integrale.
I never even notice them. You have to look look to spot them really.
Great!
I wonder how many people have hit 10K miles.
I would have if I didn't have other cars.
I never see them. The public are as confused now as they were a year ago.
The 992 is the latest in an incredible evolution of cars. My personal view is that one would enjoy a manual 997 Porsche more.
However, a 911 is so special and those who have driven older ones know that unique feeling of driving the car in anger and how the dynamics make it a different...
Well, we are all kind of hoodwinked thinking that we need 600 to 800 HP but this is all due to a HP race and bragging rights.
There is a sweet spot for perfect momentum and the Emira has it.
Bottom line is that we would never use a 720S on full beans on the road but the Emira is actually just...
Interesting.. Lot of money.
I will ask them if they believe it stops the build up of filth on the side of the car.
Actually. I will see if they wish to, cough, sponsor a video in return for one (well both sides. ha). Ummm.
If you don't ask....
Ah thanks.
Yeah... Can't talk AND have the windows down with the exhaust.
The exhaust itself has improved with age and it was already a beauty.
Always happy to take people out in it if one can get to West Surrey.
I will do some more Larini sound shots. I feel a tunnel coming on, with some...
Not been here for a while. I hope you are all well and are either enjoying your own Emira or shaking in excitement with one on the horizon!
I remain a stunned fan of the Emira. It has actually, simply, gotten better and better over each passing month.
I feel like I am in a special club, party...
Great car.
I would love to see a GT3 against the Emira on track.
The Emira is amazing on track (on corners....).
The McLaren and Lotus test driver said it was as good as the McLarens, short of a Senna/P1
Love to try my car on slicks or even CUP2s.
I have decatted midsection and the rear box.
Only thing left standard is the manifold/headers and the valve.
It will affect warranty. Can is more responsive and faster BUT there might be some wriggle room and I retained the original parts if the worst happens.
Not my best quality video but, for fun, I created little snapshots of 25 cars that you have to identify.
Nobody has even got 20 yet and I thought it was not that hard! Of course, I created it so I don't really know how I would have done. :)
Good luck!
AT least the GT prices are coming down like all the rest of our cars...
Anyway, update on the exhaust.
500 miles in on the can and it is bedding in nicely.
A bit deeper even and the deep crackles are lovely on lift.
Best thing is the amazing noise and you floor it past 5000 up to 6800.
Wow...
Ah yeah, Those Porsche owners on "The List" and somehow remain on the list.
It is indeed the way of the world.
I am 50% freakin' jealous and 50% annoyed.
Maybe in another 5 years I might become a proper YouTube and take part in that game :)
You might be right. If it comes to a Lambo/Ferrari or most other sports cars, for me, I would want one that had the exhaust upgraded as I just love the aural aspect of a car.
Others will be different and the concern about the warranty is valid.
It will almost 100% certainly invalidate the...
You can hear the Larini exhaust inside the car in my Larini video.
I believe is it with the windows up.
I nearly always have it windows down, even now it is cold, as it sounds amazing and enough to negate the wind noise.
No. Just makes the existing exit warble a bit louder and clearer and perhaps a tad longer.
It is a very pleasant sound, not hard or harsh.
Nothing like the boy racer stuff, or that heard on the Jag F-Type.
