Blimey, Lotus have piled into Autotrader (UK) with no less than 8 adverts, the cheapest of which is under £81K for a brand new car with OTR costs included. Is this less than their own list price (I've lost track!)?
Not a particularly good look if so
EDIT: Yep, about £5K cheaper than if...
Have you driven an IPS Evora? The later IPS Evoras were really very good, much better than the early Evora and the IPS EXige. If the IPS Emira has the same gearbox software as the later Evoras then I don't think you would be disappointed. V6 growl and a bullet proof slush box - could be the...
Not sure if this a new listing on Pistonheads but it's definitely the cheapest I've seen so far. For anyone not wanting to click the link it's a private seller, 2022 car, yellow, silver wheels, ancantara, 3K miles - £70K 😳

EDIT: and come to...
2015 Consumer Rights Act is a powerful tool in the UK (and the EU).
For the first month you can reject a faulty car and obtain a full refund. The supplier even has to pay for collection (unless they have a clause in their T&C to negate this).
For the first 6 months you must give the supplier...
Maybe true for the 'big' money but plenty of people have made a few £K with slightly less exotic (but still special!) cars like the GR Yaris and now the latest GT86. I think there may have been a few people hoping that the Emira demand was going to be like these cars, for a year or so at least.
Interesting - they've driven it all the way to Ladybower reservoir (40ish miles) for the photos, must have been a nice little 'jolly' for one of the salesmen ;)
Nice car OP, I had a yellow i4 on order (due in July) and then cancelled in a fit of temper when the price went up
You should sell quickly at that price, good luck (y)
My first deposit was pre-reveal, July 6th 2021, placed with a Lotus main dealer. As soon as the official order book opened I paid Lotus themselves, on July 7th 2021.
I originally ordered a V6M but quickly changed to an i4, with repeated reassurance from Lotus CC that my place in the queue was...
Lack of Type Approval is not the only possible explanation - Lotus may have simply 'forgotten' to tell them (and Thatcham) about the Auto.
Check out my post on page 3 of this thread regarding the V6S Exige Auto - exactly the same scenario
EDIT: Sorry John, I can see that you replied to my page...
Today I've had a test drive at Oakmere Lotus (Prestbury) in the UK. I've posted these words on a couple of other forums but this seems to be the biggest and best collection of test-drive reviews so I thought it worth a quick C&P - apologies if you've seen it already ;)
Road conditions for the...
At the time I tried the 'I don't know the reg' option and the 350 Sport Auto was on the list but not the V6S Auto, the V6S was manual only. Come to think of it I havent been back to try again, maybe it's now on the list for 'I don't know the reg' ?
I have the name and email for the relevent...
Interesting thread - I have some recent 'experience' that is sort of relevent
A couple of months ago I bought an IPS (auto) Exige V6S, the idea being to try out driving an auto in preparation for my i4 Emira (i.e. do I really want one?). I know it's not the same gearbox but I'm bored...
In answer to the original question....
I was an early depositor, put my money down before the car was revealed at Hethel and it's been a bit of a journey since then.
Originally it was going to be a FE V6 manual, delivery promised in June 22.
Then I changed to an FE i4, delivery expected some...
I'm leaning towards this too. I'm also an early (pre-reveal) depositor, started with a V6 FE, changed to an i4 FE, now seriously thinking about the Base i4. Save myself some cash on options that I'm really not interested in but more importantly is colour. I'm not too taken with any of the FE...
Maybe you're talking about for the US, but in the UK the first i4 cars are promised to arrive in Q4 2022, maybe even late in Q3 2022. This is what Lotus told me only 1 week ago (y)
I have to smile a bit about all the talk of a good TG review sending demand for the Emira spiralling. I hope it's...
I seem to remember being told (a couple of months ago) that Lotus have over five thousand UK orders and the UK allocation was about 1.5K cars per year. There was talk of ramping up production though?
A well trodden path by Lotus - the Exige 390, 410, 430, all have a baffled sump as standard so clearly they consider it as a necessity for track use - and they descibe the Emira Sports suspension as suited to track use - hmmm? I'm not suggesting that the Sports suspension comes with a baffled...
I was very close to the front of the V6 queue and had a June delivery in the bag (specced up as yellow with silver wheels and black leather) but I've changed my mind and I'm now waiting for an i4. GIves me more time to wring my hands in torment - red or yellow, red or yellow, red or...
Ah yes sorry, I should have said, I can't help regarding the deposit as I originally paid the £2K + £3K for a V6 and then changed to an i4, so I'm not much help ;)
More info about i4 FE pricing and spec due sometime in March, earliest likely UK delivery for i4 FE cars is fourth quarter this year, maybe a bit later, hopefully still in 2022 though!
Even for the UK, this is going to be a big 'ask' for Lotus. With 6-7% inflation, major supply problems across industry and a MUCH bigger demand than they were expecting, they will be doing very well indeed to keep entry prices pegged.
For export markets they also have currency exchange rates to...
Dude, for the past 10 years (here in the UK) that's pretty much ALL that us Lotus owners have been buying/driving. The Elise, the Exige, the Evora, all supercharged (with some NA variants). None of the later supercharged Lotus are easy or cheap to tune. If you think that a bolt on power upgrade...
I won't try to speculate on the power of the i4 LE (in the UK) but I'm expecting it to be about £5-6K cheaper than the V6.
However, I have been told that the i4 LE will have 'a couple of extra options' to consider over the V6 LE. Maybe that's a choice on ADAS and a choice of power? Now that...
Correct - maybe it's best to leave the Lotus badges on and then when people ask you what it is you can lean in closer and whisper .......
"shhh, it's a Ferrari, I'm trying to con people into thinking that I can afford a Lotus".
I'm 62, had silly cars all my life, started with Triumphs and kit cars, followed by a string of TVRs, finally got onto Lotus about 15 years ago . This will be my 7th Lotus (number 6, my Elise Cup 250 is staying!) and my first ever new car. It makes me smile when people come out with the old 'mid...
A big thanks from me too, your work has been greatly appreciated, and, I think that your final renderings for Magma Red are STILL closer/better than the new & improved configurator (y)
Tom, what about the comments about Magma being quite burgundy? I'm struggling to believe the brightness I'm seeing on the new configurator - you've seen it in real conditions (inside and out?), is the configurator still off the mark?
Like others, during the roadshow I took the sample disc...
Ah, understood (y)
I think that the price differential will stay the same, it's probably more a risk that all prices (i4 & V6) will increase sooner rather than later. The only price that Lotus has committed* to is the price for the LE V6 - hence people starting to think that it may end up...
I'm not sure many would swap between the two engines based on price, I believe that the price difference between them (for same spec) is only about £6K anyway? I reckon (based on no evidence whatsoever lol) that most people have made their choice based on the engine/gearbox combo that they...
'Lure' is the correct word, and I took the 'hook line and sinker' too. I wouldn't have signed up so quickly for an £80K pricetag and I always felt my absolute cutoff point for the V6 was £75K. So it's actually £76K, hmmm, not too far away, oh and BTW there's some OTR costs (quite a bit...
This is my absolute final spec - provided that Lotus haven't messed up after some correspondence we had about some possible changes, most of which I have decided not to implement. The latest email I've got from Lotus doesn't fill me with confidence
It should be this...
Engine: V6...
I'm guessing that 'Technical Fabric' means black cloth inserts (in place of Alcantara), with maybe some leather on the bolsters etc? I really can't see us getting full leather on a Base £60K car?
