Evo Mag Article - "Can Lotus survive its latest crisis?"

I think this might be the beginning of the end for Lotus. I feel bad for the hard working folks in Hethel. Matt and Geely led them into disaster.

New Everyday Driver video - 1 year of ownership, and v6 compared to i4

Damning with faint praise for the i4. They were as "nice" as they could be but clearly both guys are not fans of the 4 pot turbo

The definitive Hawk Brake Pad guide, with Low dust option

If the noise is bothersome, I think you'll find a very thin film of caliper grease works wonders and is normal practice even with OEM manufacturers. But up to you....

Mine are still very quite. Did you use proper Hawk caliper grease on the sliding surfaces and between the pad back and caliper pistons?

Lotus Returning To Engines - Car Magazine Article

Looking at the numbers electric vehicles have a place. Short trips, daily commute, around town in traffic etc. Range, road trips and towing ICE vehicles are still far superior. That said I'm not ready to jump on the electric bandwagon. Depending on where you live, charging infrastructure is...

Lotus Returning To Engines - Car Magazine Article

"Lotus will also delay its electric sports car, Type 135, and extend the life of the Emira." That and Lotus saying they are going to put range extending motors into their electric cars, pretty much sums up the article. Although its seems simpler said than done. The SUV and Sedan are already...

Redline Reviews: "The 2025 Lotus Emira 2.0T Is A Superlative Driver's Car With A Stonking Motor From AMG"

I know all the 4 pot, turbo, DCT buyers are going to "defend" their decisions and that's fine. To each their own. For me, a auto / DCT reduces the experience when compared to a manual trans. Yes, several manufacturers have gone away from Manuals and their enthusiast customer base complained...

Redline Reviews: "The 2025 Lotus Emira 2.0T Is A Superlative Driver's Car With A Stonking Motor From AMG"

Its hard to call it a "superlative" drivers car with a DCT. A "sports car" - yes, but the market has spoken and 6 speed cars across the market are what collectors and enthusiasts really desire and will pay up for.

RIP LOTUS….I hope not but things don’t look good

I don’t disagree, but if Lotus is to stay in business, they need to sell cars. The SUV and sedan offerings have not been well received and the Emira isn’t being sold in the USA anymore. Anyway you look at it this is not a sustainable business environment.

Carplay volume glitches with driving directions

My carplay has been problematic ever since I updated my iPhone. (SE to 14). Wireless used to work flawlessly. Now with the iPhone 14 carplay bricks every time after just a few minutes, esp when using google maps. I tried wired and wireless same result. I've given up on the Emira carplay.

    Tariffs on Emira in US?

I think 95% of the discussions have been on topic and civil. One poster in particular has been quite toxic and has hijacked an otherwise useful discussion.

    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Some have reported dealers telling them no more Emiras after 2 April but has there been any "official" word from Lotus Cars in Hethel that they are no longer going to import the Emira for a period of time?

Is it weird I like driving it a lot more than modern 911's?

My problem with modern porsches and porsche as a company is that they've adopted a ferrari like sales model. If a customer wants a GT car the dealer passes out allocations only to "good" customers who've lost big $$ on several SUV purchases and subsequent trade ins. That used to not be the...

    Tariffs on Emira in US?

Thus you never see me post on Lotus Talk and rarely on FB as both of these sites moderators lean away from free speech and way to far into unwarranted censorship. The point to this threat is that these tariffs have hurt LOTUS, they have impacted CONSUMERS, and they have certainly hurt North...

    Tariffs on Emira in US?

I normally support not allowing politics to bleed over into car hobby topics. It ruins the fun. However in this case the current administrations policies have DIRECTLY impacted the auto industry and as a subset, the Lotus Emira. In this case the conversation is 100% related and germane. As...

    Limited Telematics

Problem is solved. I picked the car up from the dealer today (21 Mar 2025). Apparently several very large re-programming updates have been issued recently, one of which was issued by Lotus just last month. It took about 5-6 hours to complete all three module programs. The boxes programed...
