I see a number here still think there is a 2 year book of orders for North America, I seriously doubt that to be the case. I canceled my order months ago from Naples, who claims to have well over 200 reservations yet I got an unsolicited call from the sales manager 2 weeks ago stating,
“Hi...
And they will continue to push it back as the general public rebels. EV’s, as good as they have become, are a flight of fancy and the wholesale conversion will take decades, not years, regardless what the EU elite, our brain dead President or the current OEM CEOs say.
I’m 65 and I don’t see EV...
Since the thread exists I’ll register my cancellation, in case anyone’s counting. Hopefully it moves someone closer to getting theirs.
The reservation was placed with Naples.
Or just buy a Taycan............. The only reason I'm even considering an Emira is the UK connection, I have absolutely no interest and a gussied up Geely Chinese EV. There is nothing "Lotus" about any of these forthcoming EV's aside from the badge.
My prediction, if you are over 50 you will not live to see the demise of ICE vehicles. Alternative technology is decades away from providing the reliability and convenience of todays motor vehicles.
The progressive outlook is totally abstract to the majority of humanity. Once these...
Well, as I suspected, Naples claims they sent emails out a couple weeks ago and have test drives this week. I never received any email regarding a test drive but I sure as hell get all their BS sales blasts. I’ve always had a bad feeling about them but they have the most allocations so being...
Lotus need to make 3 times that number in 2023 to satiate existing demand. They have already committed to making over 2000 for the North American market next year.
If I can’t place an order in Q2 2023 for Q4 2023 delivery then I will be cancelling my reservation and moving on and I’m sure I...
Ford, GM, Chrysler and I’m sure a few others maintain a robust aftermarket business selling crate motors of designs that haven’t been in a production vehicle for decades. If Lotus were to commit to a run of say 7,500 - 10,000 motors do you think Toyota would refuse to produce them?
I get it and agree, I’d be pissed if I got bumped so someone off the street could take a test drive this time around. The dealer demo cars that will be in the first batch are for that purpose. I’ve seen the car in person at Hethel so I may just wait till the first batch come in and schedule a...
Naples is going to need it for more than a few hours, I hear they have over 200 deposits. If 50% want a test drive and the best they can do is 4, maybe 5 per hour that’s 20 hours (2.5 business days). Not looking forward to the 5 hour drive but I’ll do it if I need to. Probably not fair to ask...
The skipping is more than likely the Ackerman Effect when the fronts are in full lock and yes, the Cup2’s exaggerate this as there’s very little tread “wiggle” to absorb the sliding.

I searched through a but and didn’t see it so I posted it, my bad
BTW, I don’t have a problem with it because as said, it’s not my car or Lotus’ car, it’s the person who bought it’s car and he/she/it can do whatever they want with it.
Do I think they will get asking price, no but I...

Interesting, I wonder what Hethel thinks of this.
The Superflow they use is a proper eddy current brake dyno, they have a sweep mode that is used to create these charts. It’s not a garbage dynojet inertial dyno.
Actually, what’s far more important than the type of film or it’s installation is the paint correction that must be done before any film is applied. All of the US dealers appear to be part of larger dealer groups who sell high end cars or a shop that makes its living selling select high end...
Dealer demos were always part of the dealers first order batch so not likely to show before April unless they build those first in Jan and put them on a boat before the other 700 are built.
Actually the question was, “What is going to drastically change between the demo and production car?”. The answer to that is nothing, the demo cars that have been making the US rounds are supposed to be production spec. The pre-prod cars given to the “journalists” weren’t demos.
I guess it depends on your perspective. Bad from the perspective that regardless whatever promises Lotus makes there’s still a big question mark when they will deliver. Good from the perspective that they appear to be open and up front about the situation.
They were around 170 when I placed mine and claim Lotus has told them they will be able to fill all their existing deposits. I suspect the more correct statement is Model Year 2024 which will span at least 18 months starting in January 2023, not delivered in 2023 but I could be wrong. Besides...
Naples told me they got 70 FEs. I have my deposit there since March. They still say Q3/Q4 for a base V6 at my spot in line. (I don’t know the exact slot number, they won’t tell anyone that specific number unless you are a long time customer, friend of the owner, etc.)
Here are the US priced versions. Note the Eagles and Cup2 are both 240 wear rated. Interesting and probably not great for those thinking they will get more mileage with the Eagles. These are the LTS specs.
Here’s the description, interesting info regarding sensors and app connectivity.
The...
Since there’s no purchase contract to honor I suspect in NA the only people getting an Emira at the current advertised price are the 700 who have placed FE orders. No one else in NA has an “order”, they have a reservation to eventually place an order.
All sport, sport+ and full bucket Porsche 911 & 718 seats are fixed height.
Global regulation, EU and Germany included, is 800mm (31.5) above the seat bottom measure the the point the backrest intersects the seat cushion. That is considered to account for the 95th percentile. There was...
No worries, yes, I meant model year changeover where all the major changes happen. When you’re talking about a MY run that will span 18+ months you will see parts listings that ask what month the car was built or what serial number block it lives in. From a resale standpoint that 2024 Emira you...
I’m sure the seats meet all jurisdictional requirements. If you choose to not buy the car because you believe the headrest is too low then it’s your loss.
