I found some brackets missing in the interior of the car when I took it out to do soundproofing. There was one missing on the driver's side. I would call a parts dept (Gator) and have them check to see what type of bracket is supposed to be there for that rivet to press in to. I can't copy the...
Interesting, I had gotten mine off a while back, but it took me hours and there is still a slight residue. I honestly thought I was going to ruin the Alcantara, but that stuff is tough. The U.S. stickers have been much harder to remove.
Did you receive your car recently? Yous should post some...
It's possible that piece is not clipped in properly. I had that area apart recently and it is difficult to properly "click" the clip into the trim piece behind it. While I had the rear trim panels off, I also found some screws that were loose and a missing bracket that a piece of trim is...
Hi jpl29,
I decided to use products from Second Skin Audio. I used the following:
Damplifier 1 MM on the doors and inside rear quarter area – 20 Sq Ft total https://www.secondskinaudio.com/sound-deadening/damplifier
Damplifier Pro 2 MM on the rear bulkhead – 4 sheets total...
First, you can remove that white paper on each piece. I's just a protective wrap that someone did not remove. Also, did you attach the power to the lug in that fuse box versus running it to the battery? if so, it's possible that connection is impeding the lower plastic piece when you try to...
This has been a great thread. I finally completed adding the sound deadener and insulation to my car. It's been apart for weeks. My issue was I wanted the bass to sound consistent and it had not prior. I preferred not to add an external sub although this post has proved that the Kicker (and...
you could try to loosen the 3 bolts holding the fuse box in place and raise it a bit. That may provide more clearance. If that does not work, post a picture of your situation. I think you want that lower piece on as it protects anything from coming in contact with that live main power wire.
Not sure which PPF you have, but XPEL does have a piece for that. I'd presume that other vendors do also. My installer did say it was a tricky piece to get right.
I'd be very interested to see if you can get that Volvo sub to fit. It's pretty tight in that cavity. I hope you can.
Do you know the specs on the different factory amps in the car, and if one can be removed and another be retained? If one is purely for the factory sub, and not used for any...
This looks very nice; I like the way it looks mounted vertically and saves some storage space.
It looks like you kept the factory sub plugged in also. Why not I guess.
A few other observations. The pressure relief piece that is installed near the sub did not fit very well and kept falling out if I bumped it. I wrapped some felt tape around where it mounts and that tightened the fit up quite a bit. Those pieces also flap a lot when the sub is being used and...
There is a bit of information in this thread (page 12). I don't think the procedure is identical to the Evora. I can't find more information, but I believe it was confirmed in another thread that the drain or fill plug was in a different location...
It's funny, I called Gator today to order this part and the guy laughed. I was the 4th person recently to try and order that center console bottom tray. Evidently, it's not an available part here yet @silentcilantro obtained one.
For those of you on here, like me that would like to replace the existing subwoofer with something better in the factory location here are my thoughts.
I’ve had the interior of my car apart the past few weeks to install sound deadener and look at upgrading the subwoofer. I’ve taken the door...
Although I do find it funny, personally, it would not be for me. What was your motivation?
I do think that most car people that realize this relates to Ferrari may misinterpret. Could be fun at a car show though.
I took apart the rear area today to look at the sub mounting and see if this area could use additional sound insulation/deadener. I've done the sound deadener in the doors and that made a big difference. There is actually a fair amount of insulation in the rear area behind the interior panels...
This piece has clips around most of the piece that will pop loose if pulled or pried. It's in there well though so it takes some force. There are also two screws holding it that are hidden under the piece just above the steering wheel. Those two screws are not shown in the repair manual. The...
Thanks Nova,
Only one way to see if it may fit, take the existing one out. I wouldn't mind if it protruded out further but again, I'm not 100% sure where it's mounted yet. I'm sure if it protruded a bit, I could find a way to finish it nicely or find someone to help with that. I think the...
I would really like something that is built into the vehicle. I've found a few 6X9 subs that may be worth trying. the first one below is on sale for a very low price. It seems these are made mainly for the motorcycle "Bager" market. I have heard some of those systems put out a lot of bass. The...
I did the sound deadener/insulation in the doors. I applied Second Skin Damplifier to the inner section of the exterior of the door and to the exterior of the plastic door panel. The door panel job was tedious. I followed the instructions provided on the Tweeter Upgrade thread. I’d like to thank...
I would really like an option where we can upgrade the sub in the factory location. Perhaps find a better 6X9 inch sub or retrofit an 8-inch round model. I'd really rather not install a sub box on the rear shelf. I've looked up 6X9 inch subs and there appear to be 5 or 6 that may be a better...
