Hello,
We all know how stupid high the gearing is in the 718, will an owner who knows how to video inside the cabin run thru gears 1 to 4 (higher if you like) in your Emira showing the rpms and speed at gear change? If you could consistently change at mid 6000 rpms, that would be great. If you do this, I’m guessing Tom will buy you a bourbon at his weekly meet. Bonus shot if you do this in mph not kph
Cheers Rick

Are you trying to figure out the 6MT gear ratios for the Emira? I believe they are the same as the Evora 400 (and similar variants).

Gear
Ratio
Speed @ 6800 redline
RPM @ 60mph
1st
3.54 : 1
32.73 mph
n/a
2nd
1.91 : 1
60.67 mph
6730 rpm
3rd
1.41 : 1
82.18 mph
4965 rpm
4th
1.09 : 1
106.31 mph
3836 rpm
5th
0.97 : 1
173.77 mph
2348 rpm
6th
0.86 : 1
196 mph (n/a)
2079 rpm
Final drive (gears 1-4)
3.777
Final drive (gears 5-6)
3.238

Based on the above, here are the 3k, 5k, and 6k rpm speed ranges for the Emira:

Gear
Speed @ 3k rpm
Speed @ 4k rpm
Speed @ 5k rpm
Speed at 6k rpm
1st
14.44 mph
19.26 mph
24.07 mph
28.88 mph
2nd
26.77 mph
35.69 mph
44.61 mph
53.53 mph
3rd
36.26 mph
48.34 mph
60.43 mph

4th
46.90 mph
62.54 mph
78.17 mph
93.80 mph
5th
76.66 mph
102.22 mph
127.77 mph
153.33 mph
6th
86.47 mph
115.29 mph
144.12 mph
172.94 mph

NOTE: All figures are highly dependent on tire diameter, which varies by tyre type. Calculated revs per mile of a standard 295/30R20 should be 748 (26.97 inch tire diameter), and I've used that above, but Michelin claims 770 revs per miles for the Emira fitment Cup 2, which means they run smaller (and shorten the gearing). Tire pressure and tire wear will also affect these figures. Real world values may 2%-4% different even if measured tire diameter matches the ideal.

I'll update the above shortly with calculated speeds at redline and rpm @ 60.

[edit] done!
[edit] plus speeds at 3k, 4k, 5k, 6k rpm
[edit] adjusted redline to nominal 6800

Thx boys! I’ve been calling DeMan but he won’t answer my 718 questions:
can he re gear a PDK?
should I buy a car with a diff?
what’s it cost to re gear?
I’m really considering finding a base boxster in the $45-$50k range and doing tune, turbo upgrade suspension and gearing. For whatever reason my wife gets super critical at initial $ buy in then loses all focus monitoring modd money

FANTASTIC

I noticed that the top of 2nd is *right at* 60mph... that means that if the Cup2 is really as under-diameter as Michelin claims, a 2nd to 3rd shift would definitely be needed on cars equipped with that tire to hit 60mph (or 100kph/62mph).

I haven't seen confirmation of the exact tire diameter or revs per mile for the Goodyear F1 SuperSport rear tire. I'd love to know that if anyone knows. It doesn't seem to be listed on the Tire Rack spec page for that tire, or on the Goodyear EU site. The internal product code at Goodyear for the rear tire is 586098. Does anyone have the detailed specs for that tire?
