Has anyone removed the taillights?

I am polishing my Emira and would like to remove the taillights since it would be easier to polish them off the car. If anyone knows how to remove them that would be helpful. I don't want to start removing unnecessary pieces. Thanks!

Dealer had to replace one of mine, quite a job apparently

From what I remember in the service manual, you have to remove the rear 1/4 panel to remove the taillight

I ended up polishing them on the car. As I looked around it appeared that it would be quite involved so it wouldn't be worth it.
