As usual, your insight is thoughtful and more importantly to me well noted. I too look forward to how the I4 is uniquely different to the V6. I didn't order mine as long ago as many but toiled for almost as long.Yes, The Smoking Tire with Matt Farah and Zack Klapman (who were present with Lotus at Goodwood, and they have already reviewed the Emira V6 as well as the Eletre) also indicated that they will review the Emira 2.0 Turbo (i4), and they probably tested it while they were in the UK recently, and they indicated that the lifting of Lotus’ embargo will happen on August 8, 2023.
I think we can expect a handful of such reviews, including one by the UK magazine AUTOCAR, either all on the lifting of embargo date August 8, or in fairly rapid succession.
Can I suggest that our dear Emiraforum moderators discuss and agree on establishing a separate fixed location (like a directory) for all the upcoming reviews of the 2.0 Turbo AMG (i4) version of the Emira?
I think it is time for all of us at this forum to learn about the unique features and the “personality” as well as performance of this version of the Emira. It clearly will have its own unique “character”, and finally each of us can have enough information to make up our opinion on which version is most suitable for each of us.
I am really hoping that the moderators can help us avoid getting bugged down by “fruitless quarrel” about the sound of the V6 Supercharged version versus the 2.0 Turbo version. It is already quite clear that the V6 is much louder and wildly emotional, along with that the V6 can be had with a “stick shift” purely manual transmission (as well as torque converter automatic), while the 2.0 Turbo solely comes with the clutch-less (automated) AMG 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission .
Instead of an emotional fight about which is better; I think that the reviews will tell us so many other things and aspects about the 2.0 Turbo AMG (i4) version.
Especially for those of us that chose this version over two years ago without getting any precise information about any detail about it, it has been a rather difficult time, and I think many have tried, but only a few have succeeded, in changing their order to the V6 Supercharged car. On the other hand, many of us have stayed faithful to our choice of the 2.0 Turbo AMG, while we had to endure a barrage of messages and talk that this version is the cheaper, less powerful, a kind of entry version, inferior to the V6 Supercharged car. And then all the criticism of the lesser engine sound output, and “the hatred” because it only comes as “an automatic”.
I am personally looking forward to well written, proper reviews by several experienced reviewers. Then we will see the true pros and the cons. This information should have been available from the start, and it is in my opinion “quite abnormal” that we only get to know all the details about the 2.0 Turbo AMG (i4) two years after we had to make our decision.

My “advocacy” is for LOTUS CARS, and also for this EMIRA FORUM, that things are done fair and straight so they benefit all of us equallyCheers to you for your advocacy.
Hope you are rewarded with the news.
and the turbo only kicks in around 3000rpm I think Harry saidFrom the Harry's Garage and Matt Farah's reviews, the biggest issue/drawback is the lag- both turbo lag and up/downshift lag. Up/downshift lag is a big NO-NO for me.
