Lotus escape being the most unreliable car manufacturer in the UK.

Chinese owned MG top the league as the most unreliable car manufacturer in the UK, clearly Lotus owners didn't participate.

Similar pattern to Lotus, poor customer service, long wait times for parts, warranty work delayed, not enough dealers etc. The difference being their cars are a 1/3rd of the price.

Personally I don't see the point of buying a dead brand like MG to try and use the name to get ahead on sales with a totally different product. MG was a classic car that needs to stay in the past, especially after British Leyland tried to resurrect it and failed in the 90s.

I guess Lotus aren't bottom if they don't class all the faulty doors within the unreliable section.

I never agreed with the statement 'all PR is good PR' and these stories don't help.
Yes, it's an incentive for manufacturers to improve. Buyer beware.
I try to remember the Emira is a totally new car and produced in surprising time since July 2021 launch when you consider UK deliveries (and excuse NA CARB matters).
Of course there would be teething issues, unfortunate for the early adoptors. Thanks to them my FE 2.0 has been 100 percent trouble free.
There are many things that give Lotus character, including faults. Its the stuff of car lore and love. Never had any issues with my 2001 Esprit. I feel and drive like I'm part of a tradition. Your mileage may vary.

You do know who owns Lotus now? MG Cyberster designed in the UK and SAIC looking at the logistics of building a factory here in the UK.

They outsell many traditional brands in the UK already and continue to grow each year. No doubt the increasing number of dealers will help their poor performance in the survey. The 7 year warranty also helps sell the brand.
