Hi all -- I got a mirror tap put in for my radar detector today - it worked for a moment as I tested it (before putting the shroud back up), then I saw the wires had gotten unplugged from the tap. I guess my zip tie was too high up.

I do have my dashcam plugged into the USB just fine, so no issues there... if it's on the same fuse, is this a power issue (meaning I don't have enough power to juice it up)? I checked the manual and it seems they all run off the same fuse, so not sure why it doesn't work?

Thanks for any help/suggestions!

Check the fuse to see if it blew -- probably got shorted if it did. Unlikely that your devices drew too much, that circuit is on a 10 amp fuse.

I think I did blow it, since my glovebox light is out. Any idea where the fuse box is? Trying to find it under the passenger footwell.

Yup, fuse 54 which is a 10amp fuse.

Now I gotta run to autozone or something and find a micro fuse as I don't have any at home :p

Okay got it then you tapped into the circuit for fuse 82 a 7.5 amp fuse, I think there's other wiring up there that is on a 10 amp circuit, you might wanna tap that instead.

Fuse 82 is responsible for rain / light sensor module, vanity mirror illumination, overhead console, glove box illumination, glove box switch, and interior rear view mirror module.

All fixed up now, the 7.5a fuse got replaced and all is well. Car is throwing an error for SRS or something but I’ll see if I wait that out and it clears.

That said, the hardest thing is getting the fuse box cover back on.

Thats the passenger footwell box? I wonder if any of those are spares for tapping radar/chargers etc?
Bunch of spares per the manual, but since none of them line up with the diagrams well I’m not going to bother trying to tap them.

Easier to do the mirror tap and the usb above the rear view mirror.

Incidentally as an update, the SRS error cleared itself, nothing to rectify other than waiting.

The diagram @kitkat posted is correct, it's just mirrored because it's on the other side in the UK. Once you flip it everything should line up?
