Q2 2023 Lotus Announcement

I heard Matt Windle is putting out a new video and that he's going to make things right by canceling all deposits and raising prices by 20k. o_O
It will be a Tik-tok video featuring Cardi-B music with swaying robotic arms as aerial artists glide above the factory floor, finally alighting at the quality control/ final inspection station. Quick cut to Lady Gaga tearing the drape off a radiant Magma Red Emira before Matt handing keys to Justin Bieber in a lobby event. Chorus shouts 'For the Drivers, and worth the wait,' before on-screen script displays Coming soon to a dealer near you.

Official Announcement: Lotus Emira to Feature Intelligent Cornering Speed Control (ICSC) and Special Tartan Seats Celebrating the North Coast 500

Dear Lotus Emira Community,

We have an important update to share with you regarding the Lotus Emira. In our ongoing commitment to vehicle safety and compliance with government regulations, we are introducing a new safety feature on all Emira models called Intelligent Cornering Speed Control (ICSC).

In addition, we're excited to announce a unique performance-enhancing feature exclusively for our Scottish customers: special Tartan seats celebrating the iconic North Coast 500 route.

Intelligent Cornering Speed Control (ICSC):
The ICSC system is designed to automatically slow the car down to a safe speed during cornering. Using a combination of GPS data, road curvature information, and real-time vehicle dynamics, the ICSC system will determine the optimal speed for each corner and adjust the vehicle's speed accordingly.

Tartan Seats Celebrating the North Coast 500:
To counterbalance the impact of the ICSC system on performance and to pay tribute to our passionate Scottish customers, we've developed an innovative solution: special Tartan seats inspired by the iconic North Coast 500.

These seats are not only visually striking and culturally significant but are also designed with unique aerodynamic properties that increase straight-line speed. The result is an Emira that maintains its thrilling performance, even with the added safety features, and pays homage to Scotland's most renowned driving route.

As a nod to Scottish tradition, we would like to remind our customers that, when seated in the Tartan seats, it is customary for Scotsmen not to wear underpants beneath their kilts. While this is not a requirement, embracing this tradition could further enhance the authentic Scottish experience.

While the addition of the ICSC system and Tartan seats may alter the traditional Lotus driving experience, we are confident that these changes will provide both enhanced safety and performance.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we strive to provide the best possible driving experience while prioritizing the safety of our customers.

Sincerely,
CEO, Lotus Cars

It appears we have been punk'd.

Unfortunately it seems that my earlier post was not a communication from the Lotus CEO and that in fact a generative AI got into the wrong hands.

I should have picked up sooner on the obviously suspicious act of Lotus informing customers what's going on.

Ill be sure to double check such messages before passing them on in future.

Early April Fools day prank! You should take credit for it even if it wasnt you haha ... or wait... is the redaction a prank? 🤔

So, April 1 is here😛 Are we at least getting that 470 hp I4 engine upgrade (which is what the M139 ICE section performs in the new C63) as a reward for all our patience?

That was only last year, but I know the wait has seemed like decades :)

The announcement was written by ChatGPT-4

ChatGPT-4 was given the broad themes e.g.
-April Fools prank announcement from Lotus CEO
-Government regulations affecting cornering
-Performance Enhancing Tartan seats and NC 500
-What Scotsman wear under their kilts

The AI stitched them together and fleshed out all the words surrounding the themes.

ChatGPT-4 came up with the ICSC system and aerodynamic seats.

Maybe next year generative AI will create a video sketch.
