It has come to my attention that there are two persons working at the reception area at Lotus Cars @ Hethel, Norfolk. Scott the younger takes guests on tours through manufacturing and assists in delivering Lotus vehicles in the case of factory delivery. But there also seems to be a Scott the elder present in the reception occupied with other tasks and also interacting with guests and customers arriving for appointments. Can anyone familiar describe who-is-who regarding Scott the younger and Scott the elder? We are truly grateful for both of these kind gentlemen who really present human and warm, friendly faces to the entrance of Lotus Cars @ Hethel, Norfolk that otherwise would have been perceived as a cold and anonymous manufacturing plant.

I was so off the mark.

"Old Scott" - Scott Walker runs "Hethel Retail Operations". He had a 20+ year career selling Lotus cars for Bell & Colville, as head of sales for Lotus UK and running his own dealership group. He personally owns most of the classic cars on display in the retail area.

"Young Scott" - Scott Delamere is a Product Specialist. He does the excellent tours of the factory. He has previously been a material/production planner at both Lotus and McLaren.

Thank you Nick. It was a lot easier to find good information about Scott Walker, his distinguished career and his important role at “Hethel Retail Operations”. It was a lot more difficult to find good information on Scott Delamere, so your excellent explanation was really helpful. (I haven’t yet visited Lotus at Hethel myself, but I recently heard about the two Scott(s) from another Emira owner to be who did visit and was really treated so well by each Scott.

I did have the pleasure of tasting this excellent (hard to get) beer on a visit to a friend in California. Pliny the Elder is probably as good as any beer gets, and Pliny the Younger is a beer of true excellence as well.

But there is always a reason why a brewery would pick such names for their product.

For those interested, the explanations about these two significant persons in history who are known as Pliny the Younger, and Pliny the Elder can be read at the link below:
