I am seriously planning to get a sports car, probably an Emira, as my passion and weekend car, whereas my little VW Tiguan is my practical car. I plan to live in apartment buildings or condominiums, and my current place only has one garage parking spot.

I wonder if other people here have limited parking options, and what any of you in this same situation tend to do? (other than have your daily car parked in the street, and the sports car safely in the gated garage)

What do you guys do here, or what options are available?

Thanks for your help!

UK drivers with 2 cars and one garage/parking space, either do what you are suggesting, or hire another parking space close by.
I know a few that keep their daily at their residence and their "Toy" at a more secure location close by, that they pay extra for

I had a lift installed in my half of a two car garage for about $6500. Audi Q3 underneath and the Emira on top. Very happy with the result.

That's a very cool idea, but I'm not sure most apartment or condominium buildings would allow me to install a car lift like some people use in their home garages. What do you think?

If the garage doesn’t need to be modified to add height, I don’t know why it wouldn’t be allowed. It’s not permanently affixed and came with casters so the entire lift can be moved if needed.

Liability. If it's a multi tenant garage, even if you have assigned parking you are facing far too many challenges of who has access to touch parts of the lift, where is it going to get power from. Ultimately though. What happens when there's some kind of accident that damages someone else's car, or if there were injuries involved?

Good point. So, it seems in this scenario, I would probably have to rent a 2nd car space in the building, or find some other secure parking space to rent?
