Has anyone noticed a difference in the level of the supercharger whine between individual cars? I have driven only 2 Emiras in anger and in the first the whine was quite noticeable but in the second (my car) it's much less obvious. Both standard cars so I'm not sure why there would be a marked difference. Ideally, I'd like it louder a bit more like my old S2 Exige.

I have only ever driven my own car, but the supercharger wine was was more noticeable before I removed the third cat because now there is more sound at other frequencies along with the supercharger. With the third cat installed, the supercharger wine was the only feature. I also did the cat removal early on, so maybe the SC sound changes with break-in too.

it varies so much depending on the situation. before I installed the GRP intake (its very loud now, love it) the intake noise was drowned out by the exhaust noise most of the time. (3rd cat delete + valve controller)

however if I floored it while in a high gear low rpm, i could hear it very clearly.

One thing I've noticed with Emiras is inconsistency between them. I've driven 3 (2 before I bought mine), and though they weren't back to back, I swear the gearbox, steering and sound was different on all three. In particular the gearboxes varied significantly.

I put this down to the hand build nature and that things like gearboxes are manually adjusted and setup by different people. Also things like the gearbox and sound will change a little as you put miles on the vehicle.
