I've seen reports on FB that Lotus has stopped shipping the Emira to the US because of tariffs. Can anyone confirm with official information from Lotus Cars or their dealership?

Just sharing what was sent… dealerships are dealerships so you might be correct. I would say it’s a pretty bold statements to make and risky to put out there if untrue.. who knows!I question this. It looks more like a car dealer trying to move inventory. I have not heard anything official from Lotus, never mind that the dealer sent this before the actual tariffs were announced.

Congrats on having your post from a forum referenced in the car and driver article, Wiz. Looks like we bought our Emiras from the same dealer and salesperson and received the same emails.
Notable.Congrats on having your post from a forum referenced in the car and driver article, Wiz. Looks like we bought our Emiras from the same dealer and salesperson and received the same emails.
Were you at GGLC last Sunday?Congrats on having your post from a forum referenced in the car and driver article, Wiz. Looks like we bought our Emiras from the same dealer and salesperson and received the same emails.
Dealer being Dealer, I would not be surprised if they try to squeeze more money out of any remaining FE V6 manual. i4 probably not so much.Notable.
Anyone think it's odd no other dealer has been so forthright about the situation (as far as I can tell)?
Interesting too that Lotus USA is content to have dealers contend with the matter. Not the best to preserve confidence in the brand.
Meanwhile, I think any Emira still on a dealer lot will remain priced-to-sell versus getting a bump up to clear inventory. The argument will be that the next round will be more costly.
We are a long way from the launch hysteria.
I was not.. I haven’t registered or attended an event yet.. on my list to do this year. Were you at GGLC last Sunday?
Don't think so, it's a tariff on imports, so applied at the border. As I understand it, the tarrif in effect applies tonthe goods as they are shipped, in this case as the depart the factory. YMMV.
True. Investors who have money run away from uncertainty like a 100 metre sprinter, at the sound of the starter gun. Most others avoid any unnecessary spending, not knowing if their necessary expenses will increase and rob them of disposable income. All this sets the stage for a recession, complete with job layoffs and former trading partners finding new and more stable/dependable economic alliances. Years of economic trust resulting in mutual growth become a meaningless past story, which our grandkids studying for their commerce degrees, might fondly read about in history books. Unravelling 50+ years of North American or world-wide collaboration on auto production, could see us in a whole new world, with no winners, if for no other reason, the increased costs scaring buyers away or penalizing purchasers. This on off thing for tariffs will not help anyone as it only increases the uncertainty.
