Hey,
I just purchased a new emira 2 weeks ago. Loving the car so far.

Today I went to start the car and it just didn’t sound right. I backed out of the driveway and “engine reduced acceleration “ warning appeared. Also check engine light. I immediately turned off the car. Upon restarting everything appears to be back to normal but the check engine light hasn’t gone away.
Anybody know what could be the issue?
Should I buy a scan tool to reset the check engine light and see if it reappears?

Car has just under 400 miles.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the car! Did you buy from Summit? We're lucky to be close to dealers in the NE. Yes, have a good scan tool on-hand (always) but I would make sure your dealer knows what you experienced and probably have them scan it if it's not too inconvenient for you.

Post a pic of the car, too!

Welcome to Emira ownership!

Mine did the same thing around 500 miles. No problem after that.

Yes, I did buy it from Summit in NJ.
I ordered it end of March and got it end of November.
I just ordered a scan tool so I can check the code.
Don't have any great pictures yet but here is one I took right after I picked up the car.

Hello guys.. I just took my car for a 5 min ride and suddenly red warning light popped up with limited rpm. I stopped for a second to check but light was gone after restarting the car but it feels light it has lost some power. I have value controller/3rd cat delet/ and evanturi intake installed while ago. Do you guys think I should take it to a dealer ?

My Emira is 3 weeks old and the check engine light came on last weekend and has been on since. No other alerts are visible and all functions (temp, oil, etc.) appear normal. I waited >27s to start the car after unlocking and sitting (recommended here), but the problem persists. I read that some here have read the error codes with a device. Is that a thing? What device is available to us owners that are safe to connect to the Emira?

Yeah, you need an OBD2 code reader. There are many available. I ordered the Blue Driver one off Amazon and it works great with the Emira.

You should be fine as long as you didn’t go too cheap. I originally ordered one called a mini ELM327 for $25. I couldn’t get it to connect, so I ordered the Blue Driver after. Cheers.

The fact you said it was a best seller should make it safe too. Just realized you linked it. That should be good.

Similar scenario happened to my car around the same mileage -- pulled over, shut off, waited 5 min, it's never happened again 1600 miles later. I wouldn't worry about it unless it occurs again.

Yeah I wouldn’t stress. It’s likely nothing but a code reader is still a good tool to have.
