I've had similar conversations and I'm here in England.

Had some young lads asking me if I'd built it myself! With all the problems I've had I think I'd have done a better job.

Yellow Piping is vinyl. LOTUS logo on side skirts and Emira logo on the lip is hand painted.

The contrasting bonnet/hood ups the Emiras game somewhat, like the Porsche models that have a carbon fibre one.

Not easy to see the detail of the hood, you need to zoom in, but pic looses definition once I upload it here.

Very nice, I think it lifts the look up even more I'm sure many will disagree though.
I'm looking at this as an alternative to an actual carbon fibre bonnet/hood. PPF fitted by Jim at White Detail, he's on YouTube, amazing detailing videos and PPF application.

You raise an interesting point however.

No 1964 Lotus Europa. First year was 1966.
