Any ideas what this is and where it may have come from? just found it in passenger footwell and have no idea where it comes from, has only appeared in recent days.

Good question. Maybe it‘s a fuse box cover. I think there is a fuse box in the passenger foot well.
On my car I only found a screw laying around in the drivers side door pocket. I hope that Lotus delivered it as a spare part like IKEA does it

Oh you are right. I just looked at them today, but I imagined the part on the pic to be bigger.It’s one of the covers for the front access panel (bonnet) screws.
How it’s got inside the car only Lotus knows.
You can see one here just in front of the wiper arm.

Mystery solved, it is indeed as @KJD said. The detailer Elliot found it in back of car when hoovering after doing my PPF / ceramic recently and put in on my passenger seat but forgot to tell me. He had checked and all my clips on bonnet were in place so it must be a spare! as @FederGigant says it is like IKEA, spare parts included!
