I'm still considering the seat situation and wondering if the Evora Sparco seats would fit given the cars are 90% identical part/layout wise. I've said for long time the standard seats dont have enough lateral support for me, which affects confidence in the cars ability when cornering (the back...
Whats the rebuild frequency with the Ohlins? They're the ones that I tend to lean towards. If I do swap out the suspension, I dont want to go too hard as I find the touring setup to be just about right for the UK roads. When I drove the sport, it was too hard and a bit crashy on bad surfaces.
The i4 never appealed to me so more power doesnt really outweigh that. For me, I'd prefer same power (or mild bump) but significant weight reduction and more purposeful seats etc. The thing with the i4 is that the Alpine A110 can be had for 54k for the regular versions, where as the Emira is...
I have checked but they dont feel damp. I've booked it in today for that side door to be replaced due to the blistering paint issue anyway so hopefully this will sort the seal at the same time.
Anyone experienced this?
I noticed today (after the snow had cleared) that my car has condensation on the inside despite the car not having moved for over a week. I'm tihnking that there is moisture ingress.
I do recall when I last cleaned it that there was a small spot of water on the seat...
I need to see an Emira rocking these:

I think it would look old school sick
No, its not a problem now, it'll be a problem when time comes to replace the BMW. The 435d was paid off years ago and only costs me about £80 a month not including fuel. My thought process at the moment is to save 20k and throw it down on a used M240i in a year or 18 months time. The monthly...
Absolutely not. Its just the arguments that go on in my head. I bought the Emira as an 'occasion car'. An end of week reward for a busy and hard week at work etc. Its just the sensible side of my head feels the need to chime in and say 'you're wasting money on something you rarely use'.
In some respects you're probably right. Its not the car I need but its the car I want. An M2 or something similar would probably be better in the offering of performance and practicality, but then I use the Emira or just look at the damn thing and I cant imagine swapping it so I just swallow the...
i hear you.
Its not so much the Emira in isolation, its the fact I'm running two cars. At some point, I'm going to have to replace the BMW (athough arguably with it being a diesel its good for another 100,000 miles yet) because at times I need something more practical than the Emira. I cant do...
I dont want to trade my Emira but I must admit the practical side of my mind is coming on strong at the moment. I'm just not using it enough.
I'm paying all in (insurance, tax etc) about £850 a month fo the Emira and I'm doing about 120 miles a month on average. The sensible side of my mind...
From memory, i believe all states of tune can be mapped to 7000 as part of the new ECU. I was looking at the lowest level of tune just to get the rev limiter raised and once the ECU has been changed, you can build up the tune package from that point on.
Excellent. I agree that I think short plates look wrong. I'll probably go four or five digit too. Do they supply replacement adhesive pads too or do they need to be sourced from somewhere?
So, now that my Emira is coming up to 18 months old, I need to deal with that particularly British shame of now driving an old car and thus a private plate might be in the offing.
I've not replaced a licence plate since the days they were held on with tiny screws and little plastic caps over...
I'm a little confused. You asked them not to clean it but it looks like they've used a polisher on the rear quarter? If they replaced the door, I presume this must have been to blend the paint?
If it helps others, I had mine in to do the door and they were generally fine. It took a very a long...
I remember him saying once that he used it almost as a daily so the mileage may be higher than average; but even taking that into account 46k equivalent seems low.
My point was that most parts could be sourced from other manufacturers, after market equivalents etc except the body panels. If lotus disappeared, it’s unlikely Teijin would continue with them (maybe AliExpress lol)
And they did say slowly turning off the cash flow taps. Not over night.
I'm interested in a Ti exhaust to save weight and a third cat delete but I think I'd just keep the original valve controller and put it in track mode if I want the noise.
I heard something a while back about Geeley slowly turning the taps off at Lotus and its future is undetermined. They dont feel the brand has the enough prestige to carry off the EV transition and that Geeley are looking at Aston Martin as a potential route for this.
IMHO Lotus went too big on...
Its difficult to say. The car was bought in August 2024 but that's not necessarily reflective of its build date. Mine took about six months for the issue to start presenting itself on the driver's door and a year for the passenger.
Jeez, fortunately, mine has been mechanically sound - its the paint and the electrics that are seriously suspect. I've just completed my satisfaction survey for Lotus, didn't go as they would have liked I'm afraid.
If mine had been towed 3 times in five months it would be gone.
To be honest, after cleaning the car today and finding the passenger side paint now starting to bubble, after waiting six months for them to sort the drivers side and before that four months to sort the air con, I'm starting to think 'sod this' I'll go get an M4 or maybe an M2 and cut my losses...
This is potentially a big issue for lotus in a year or two. My optional final payment is about 45k for what will be a four year old car at that point. They might not be worth it at this rate
The seats are definitely something I want to do, I'm just waiting until I get into the last year of the warranty first. I don't want to give Lotus any wriggle room while I still iron out kinks with the car. The ability to tip forward would be welcome, but not essential though.
Has the issue of...
I think its better than the CT carbon kit but it all looks a little too McLaren for me. I think the rear spoiler works better than any other than the GT4 though.
I just tried LV and the website said they cant insure me, even if I take the accident off the quote.
It seems that this is a postcode issue. If I use the postcode for the house next door, It goes down to £700. Not sure how t get around this other than to say I live next door! Just to clarify...
So...
Just tried running the usual comparison sites as my premium is due next month. Cheapest quote now is....
£4350!
I had one accident in 2023 when my BMW hit ice and I ended up in a barrier, no other claims and protected no claims of 11 years, no convictions and I'm 49!
Mines the same. I mentioned it to my dealer was told 'they're all like that to a varying degree'. You'd think this is something that would be sorted on later cars.
