Emira Fan
Just for fun. If you sold your EMIRA and bought another vehicle what would it be? (Around the same price or less than the EMIRA)

My car the way it is now should be down in the 3's. In order to get it down to a weight to power ratio of 7, that would include a total of 110+ lbs of weight reduction, with 53 lbs of that being unsprung rotating weight, and the Komo-tec 430 tune.Er, the 3's?
Wow, cheers! My car the way it is now should be down in the 3's. In order to get it down to a weight to power ratio of 7, that would include a total of 110+ lbs of weight reduction, with 53 lbs of that being unsprung rotating weight, and the Komo-tec 430 tune.
Right now my W/P ratio is 7.64 (factory stock is 8.17) and my car is 72 lbs lighter than stock. I'm going with RacingBrake's CCB rotors and pads next month, which will reduce the weight by another 28+ lbs, all of which is unsprung rotating weight. That should put me somewhere in the lower half of the 3's, and if the Komo tune happens, adding another 28 hp and 20+ ft lbs of torque should push me below 3.
I should be getting a Dragy for Christmas, so I'll be able to post up some actual road performance numbers next year.
You pay over 10 grand a year just for having the Emira?? How are these costs breaked down? Because I made a calculation for myself and it would be less than a third of your amount (tax, insurance, service)I dont want to trade my Emira but I must admit the practical side of my mind is coming on strong at the moment. I'm just not using it enough.
I'm paying all in (insurance, tax etc) about ÂŁ850 a month fo the Emira and I'm doing about 120 miles a month on average. The sensible side of my mind says trade it and get something that can be used all year round and has a little bit more practicality.
To some degree, this is my own fault. I 'could' use the Emira more but I'm guilty of nannying it. If its rained the day before, I dont drive it. If there's salt on the road, I dont drive it. If the temperature is less than 8 degrees C, I dont drive it.
I have 'old faithful' (a 2017 remapped xdrive 435d with 108k miles) as a daily and this means I have an option other than the Emira, allowing me to not use it.
A good part of me says trade them both and get something like a 992 Carrera 4 GTS or fully loaded M4 competition and I'd probably be about equal on cost.
I could trade the 4 series and get a M240i but then thats going to add about ÂŁ500 a month to my outgoings and using man maths, ÂŁ1300 a month would get me into something very nice.

You should stop nannying it and start enjoying it
It does. That seemed crazy to me as well. Must be financing thrown in there.
Your problem is not the emira but having a nice car. You’ll likely baby any other nice car the same way.I dont want to trade my Emira but I must admit the practical side of my mind is coming on strong at the moment. I'm just not using it enough.

This is absolutely how I feel about it as well. It just hits a sweet spot.I know any car I'd replace the Emira with would be a downgrade. The Emira represents the pinnacle for me; my magnum opus and swan song. I can't think of any other vehicle that's not millions of dollars that can top the Emira in every category (styling, responsiveness, manual, feedback, grip, comfort, etc.) I will attempt to hold it forever because it's downhill from here.
