The current diffuser could also be modified to allow for extra cooling vents, this would be way cheaper than a new diffuser. The current vent pushing air over the valve controller is pretty small, and I doubt it does much.
I'd argue. They different that's all. My i4 with a similar set up to yours sounds amazing. Pops, bangs, whistles, air dumps, etc. There's theatre everywhere. Plus it absolutely smashes the V6 on the road and on the track. The V6 has a great exhaust sound... and that's about it.
Yeah, I get that, but there's 3 ECU's (that my OBD reader can communicate with) in the Emira surely Lotus didn't rewrite all these ECU's.... I didn't think Lotus was that capable, and I doubt Mercedes would have done that either. So surely they are very similar. I'm just clutching at strings...
I'm definitely interested in this. Please keep me updated with all the info. A plug and play solution for me in Western Australia is going to be ideal as I doubt anybody here is going to be able to tune the ECU (once cracked) anyway.
Does a plug and play solution have the ability to remove...
I've got a new exhaust and downpipe with sports cat, and the infotainment power meter still reads exactly 360hp under full acceleration. Never slightly below and never slightly over. Surely those mods would have at least give a few extra hp!!!! So basically the power meter is shite.
Swap out your exhaust and downpipe for a GRP one, and get the Milltek valve controller. Turns the car into a completely different beast. Sounds amazing. The pops and bangs are mental. The i4 is an absolute animal.
The dealer not washing it is a good thing. In my experience they 'wash' more scratches into the paint. Best to leave the washing to someone who knows what hey are doing.
This is the link to the exhaust

I also have the downpipe with sport cat. Which produces wicked pops and bangs...
That's pretty good for the standard exhaust. Much better sound, and it's definitely nice being in control of the sound for each of the drive modes. But you can take it a step further with an aftermarket exhaust, like the GRP I installed on mine.
Zero issues my end while driving on the road. Gear changes are crisp and quick, which is why the V6 guys/gals can't get a sniff of this i4. With an exhaust and sports cat upgrade, it also sounds completely mental.
Hey. Just confirming that the code does change the sound of the exhaust note. With this code on the pops and bangs disappear.... but other than that I haven't noticed a decrease in the actual cars performance.
I did receive the O2 spacers today, so I will fit and test over the weekend, and come...
The GRP Exhaust and Downpipe make a huge difference to the sound. The sound from the exhaust is always going to be 'similar' based on the fact its gases from the same engine and the exhausts are all very similar design with similar pipe lengths. It's also really hard to hear how good any of the...
Hey. The sport cat does throw fault code (P0420), which I am currently working on a fix for. That's the only code coming up and is pretty common when de-catting or changing to a sports cat. I'm hoping an O2 spacer will fix it, if not I'll work on other fixes. You should buy a code reader as your...
I did mine off of ramps. I took the hot side of the turbo off as well, but that was a nightmare getting the clamp back on due to the turbo coolant pipes being right next to where the clamp needs to sit. I'd definitely be trying to leave that on and going down the other suggested route. Its all...
Need a OBD tool that can remove and stop the CEL completely.

Wonder whether this would work on the turbo???
Very interested to see how the piggyback tune goes.
I have the GRP downpipe and exhaust fitted now. Its a beast!!!!!! But it does throw a CEL. So I'm working on removing this. Does anybody know why the pops and bangs disappear when the CEL is on???
The new GRP downpipe went in so easily. Everything lined up perfectly. Recommended so far.... just waiting to fit the new exhaust and then fire her up.
I'm literally doing mine now. Just waiting for the new downpipe from GRP to arrive today (GRP exhaust is due on Monday). It was a nightmare to get the OEM downpipe out, but I managed to take off the turbo exhaust housing and the manipulate it enough to take if out from the inspection hatch. Must...
